She nodded. “That’s a fair perspective. I just wanted you to have that information, just in case.” Myqian drew in a deep breath. “So, for the preliminary testing, how do you want to go about it? You mentioned bloodwork and such. Did you want to do that now, or for me to come back?”

Captain Myqian, CO

“Seeing as this is not an acute case, but you are the Captain of this ship, it is entirely up to you. If you’d like to do the testing now, I can arrange that. If you’d prefer to schedule a time, that is equally arrangeable.” Solal replied.

“Now is better. I’m already here and I booked off time for this. Might as well take advantage of it. You mentioned looping someone else in? We might as well chat with them too while we’re at it.”

Captain Myqian, CO

“Let me page Lieutenant McCandless, the head nurse,” Solal said. “He will assist with the testing.” He said, and pages the nurse to the office.

John was in Secondary Sickbay with Nurse Lyra talking with a patient.
“....and that’s when I.” He stopped mid sentence as the page came through and sighed apologetically.
“I’m sorry, I’m needed elsewhere. I’ll finish the story another time.” He said to the patient and Lyra, leaving her to finish scanning the young Ensign.

He wandered why Solal had paged him to his office. He’d not had much to do with the Doctor so far. He tried to think why he had been summoned and came up with a myriad of reasons. He imagined one scenario in which the Doctor had arranged a surprise party for him and chuckled to himself at the thought of all the Doctors wearing party hats. He doubted that was the reason though, although a very small part of him hoped it was.

After a couple of minutes he made it to the door, pressed the chime and waited patiently to be called in.

Lt. John McCandless (Head Nurse)

It was only a moment before the door slid open and Solal let him in. He let the door shut behind the nurse. “Nurse McCandless.” He said. “I must request your discretion and utmost secrecy in a task.”

John blinked at the bluntness of Solal. Straight to the point. John looked at Solal and then at the Captain and frowned slightly wandering why the need for discretion and secrecy. But he trusted the Doctor and Captain.
“Of course. As always, patient confidentiality is the highest priority Doctor.” He replied.

Lt John McCandless, Head Nurse

Dira drew in a long, steady breath and nodded to McCandless. “It’s personal,” she said softly. “Dr. Solal has agreed to look into some symptoms I’m having and I would rather keep this very quiet. And I mean from everyone outside of this room until I am ready to say anything, if there is anything to tell others at all.”

John swallowed and looked over at the Captain. What am I getting into? he thought and then worried about what was causing Dira so much concern.
“Of course Captain. My word is my bond, I won’t say anything to anyone unless you give permission.” He replied meaning every word. He then looked over to Doctor Solal.
“What tests what you have me assist with Doctor?” He asked.
