As they stepped out into the corridor, Dira smiled. “It’s going to be awhile before the cognitive dissonance fades, and definitely not on its own.” Myqian looked up and down the corridor and then ack at him, offering an amused, if weary smile. “Now I think I am going to go start the process and later maybe hit the Lounge and see how the gossip evolved from the last hour. It does always amaze me how fast it can spread and how much it can morph. Can I leave the Bridge with you for a couple hours?”

“Would nae have it any other way, Skipper.” Sinclair said with a smile. “Go on, then. Take care of you for a bit. I’ll make sure we don’t steer ourselves into a black hole.” and he smiled more broadly and turned towards the turbolift. “But you owe me a drink!” and he laughed as he stepped into the lift and disappeared.

Standing there Dira inhaled, exhaled, inhaled, and exhaled again. She needed to steady herself before she carried on with the next task. Looking up and down the corridor, she quelled the intense feelings within, turned on the ball of her foot and headed in the opposite direction of Sinclair.

Dira took a turbolift to Deck 10A and the second her feet hit the deck she felt instant relief. Yeah, that probably was not going to change for awhile, but at least she could acknowledge the feeling.

She stepped into the Security department and nodded at a pair of Haven’s staff, before moving over to the office. She could hear voices and could sense someone else was with Zoi, so she knocked on the door frame before poking her head in. “I’m sorry to intrude, but can you give me a moment with Lieutenant Haven, Ensign?” On the outside, Dira was the picture of calm and poise, but underneath she was just trying to hold it all together, though the sight of her beloved definitely gave her a boost.
