Dira laughed and raised her glass before taking a deep drink. Lowering her glass, she rested it on her thigh and tilted her head up to the ceiling. “I look forward to trying it out and looking up at the sky. You don’t realize how much we miss on a starship just having our eyes gazin’ at the same sight lines. But even sitting on the floor, or lying down and looking up and around, it’s allso different. Ya know?” she said, dipping her gaze back to him.

“I’ve always looked up at the sky though mainly to see the stars. Being among the stars gives a different perspective than planetside.” Achilleas mused back. “But when boating I always checked the sky for storm fronts and to see which way the wind was blowing. I think that our appreciation of what’s around us doesn’t have to be diminished by the fact that we’re looking for a reason beyond just appreciating it.”

Dira grinned. “You’d like my father. He’s an artist and always waxin’ poetic about stuff. I think dat’s where I get it from mostly. He got my need to wander de stars, even when I didn’t always get it. Sometimes I still don’t, even dough de pull is still dere.”
