Maria looked towards the XO. =^=Standby on that. I’m going to see about rerouting to bypass the junction, fall back to a relatively safe distance while keeping it in sight.=^= She ordered and waited a few minutes before she began to punch in a series of commands onto the main console, she tried to divert the flow of the energy from that junction to another one and route that back to the labs and medbay. While doing that she activated the rooms comm, since Huzzen’s comm channel was routed to her combadge.

The power diverted successfully, routing around the affected junction. In the tunnel the creature shimmered slightly and eventually plopped off and started squirming away from Huzzen, as fast as a purple blob of goo can travel, leaving a glittering slime trail in its wake. Glitter gets everywhere.

She opens her mouth to open another comm before she blinks. She frowned a bit. “The science labs are without power and probably wont receive the coms… I guess I need to call the CSO…” She said before opening up a room comm. =^=Engineering to Lt. Petrakos, There is an issue with the power to the Science labs and Medbay… it seems that a purple glittery gelatinous substance has consumed the junction to the areas and is consuming power from the junction, this power consumption seems to be converted into energy that it uses to replicate itself. Have you ever encountered such a creature or substance?=^=

Sinclair thought for a moment and then looked at Maria. “If it’s gelatenaous… what if we flooded the area with refrigerant? Maybe we can freeze it.”

Maria looked thoughtful. “Maybe, however I would be afraid for the electrical components and for Huzzen. If we could lead it to a section and seal the section off then I would be more ready to agree to it.” She said giving a small nod.

Navale watched as the power cycled away and the blob decided to move. She wasn’tsure it was safe to follow and come in contactwith the residue it was leaving. =/\=Chief, whatever you did, it’s left. Heading down toward the next junction. If I had to guess, it’s looking for food. And leaving a nasty gooey, slimy, glitterfilled trail behind it.=/\=

“Perfect. Get the Chief out of there and seal off the tubes.... here, here, and here. Then flood it with the refrigerant from the life support humidity controls. Make sense?” Sinclair asked.

Maria blinked at him raising an eyebrow. She shook her head a bit before she said. “If we do it here… and here....” She pointed to two sections that were approximately equal distance between the previously affected junction and the direction that she would have assumed that the glitterous gelatinous mass was headed. If we shut these off when it’s there, and flood only that section it should be just fine.” =^= Lt. Huzzen, retreat for now. We are going to close off sections T5 and T6 and flood those sections with refrigerant. See if we can freeze the mass solid.=^=

=^= Bridge, this is Chief Engineer Maria, we had received an error that seemed that there was a massive power draw between the science labs and main sickbay. It seemed that something happened that caused a competition for power between the two areas. We tried to cycle power away from both areas to see if that would clear the compete. But we could not cycle power back to the areas. We ran a trace and found that one of the junctions was affected. So Lt. Navale Huzzen went to investigate the matter. Upon investigation we found that attacked to the junction there is a purple gelatinous mass that seemed to be consuming the electricity and converting it into energy which it has been using to expand its own mass. We rerouted power away from the junction and it is moving on for another energy snack, and we are currently trying to figure out what to do. Rerouting the power away from that junction should have restored the power, if it hasn’t then there may be another one somewhere. The current plan is to close off a few sections in the Jeffries Tubes and flood those sections with refrigerant to see if we can freeze the mass solid. =^=

She waited for Huzzen to say she was out of the area, before she looked over to the NE. Steven. “Steven, if you would please prime sections T5 and T6 for a refrigerant purge into those sections.” She said as she tapped a few buttons to lower the doors on those sections.

The NE nodded doing what they were told as any and all good nameless ensigns have done since time immemorial. The coolant was easily diverted and the sealing protocols were engaged. It would be, as the grandfathers say, easy peasy lemon squeezy as soon as Huzzen was clear to flood that section.

=/\=I’m clear chief. Heading back your way now.=/\= Huzzen had gone back the way she came, opposite direction of where the goo went. She made her way back down the access ladder and to the access room. Then made her way back toward main engineering.

Once she got the all clear, and after the sections were sealed she let out her breath and iniated the purge of refrigerant.
