The talk with Cmdr Walker made Bryn aware of just how possible a ‘lyr’ attack was. It could happen any time and she needed to be prepared. Dressed in a full skirt and halter top, she crossed the carpet in bare feet to her desk. The press of a few buttons brought up her digital diary.

Finding the right place, she refreshed her memory by reading about the last episode. Ugh! It had been so bad, the thought of having to do it again made her sad and anxious. Bryn stood abruptly. A cup of tea might settle her nerves, besides, it was something to do. Activity wasn’t the enemy so she headed to the replicator.

Twenty minutes later, the tea mug was empty and Bryn was searching her mind for another activity to waste some time. Perhaps a shower, tuck in early and watch a holovid? Yes, that sounded good and if she was lucky, she’d fall asleep during the movie. It didn’t take long to recycle the mug, strip out of her clothes and enter the shower where she let the water pound on her back and shoulders trying to ease the stiffness that was threatening to settle in from anxiety. While subjugating herself to the harsh massage of water, Bryn gave herself a good talking to. She needed to stop worrying about having a tyl episode. If it happened, she’d deal with it—if it didn’t, would that be wonderful?

A few minutes later she stepped out of the shower while toweling the majority of water from her hair. The holo tablet was already laying on one side of the bed so she opened it. “Movies, horror.” A selection of 4, 212 were listed. While rubbing lotion into her skin, she worked her way through a couple hundred title and then just gave up. “Play title 375.” It was a gamble, but it might be a good choice. The opening credits began to play as Bryn settled between the sheets.
