The young trill looked behind her, “Well it would be rude to have favourites but I enjoy painting the Lillies” She chuckled, “Thats when Frigga isn’t trying to pose as a very fluffy flower.” ‘Tai then passed the question back to Bonner, “What about you? Anything particular?” She’d noticed that Bonner didn’t either know or like to smile if Octavia hadn’t been looking up at the older woman or blinked she’d have missed it.

“Frigga does enjoy being the center of attention.” She reached down and snagged the tug toy and pulled back and forth with her for a moment before Frigga let go. Alexis tossed it high into the air and it went about four feet but Frigga snatched it out of the air before it landed. “The herb garden, specifically the English Lavender planted there. Reminds me of my mother’s garden. What about yourself Dr. Walker?”

“I personally prefer the trees,” Brad said. “Lillies? Is there a pond in here?”

“It doesn’t classify as a full size pond, it would have to be big enough to be at least 24 foot deep on average and roughly 150 square feet in over all size. But small garden ponds can range from 2 feet deep to 6 feet deep and any size over all. It depends on the space. There is a garden pond with a small water feature in the back starboard corner. Frigga hates it. Can’t stand to get wet.”

‘Tai Smiled, “Not all species of Lillies need water most, in fact, the majority love compost as much as the next plant type. My favourite is the Spathiphyllum or Peace Lily its a genus of about 47 species of monocotyledonous flowering plants in the family Araceae, native to Earths tropical regions of the Americas and southeastern Asia.” She turned a little pink, “Sorry I’m good with medicines but I do love my flowers.” She apologised.

“That’s fine, a lot of early medicines came from flowers and plants,” Brad said. “I mean, now we synthesize pretty much everything, but it’s nice to have a place to grow some of the original stuff in a pinch.”

Maybe he’d devote a part of his oversized office space to a small hydroponic herb plot. Tending those would be something to do in between reviewing reports and requisitions, and he’d heard gardening could be rather relaxing.

‘Tai was glad that the commander ‘got it’ “Exactly, we rely so heavily on replicators when all we need it some dirt, UV and water” She smiled, “Well I better get off it was nice talking to you both!” She smiled and gave a slight curtsy, “See ya!” And made her exit.

Alexis didn’t even have time to respond before the young girl disappeared. Frigga trotted back up with the tug toy and glanced from Walker to Bonner and to the no longer there ‘Tai. “She’s certainly full of enthusiasm,” Alexis said. “I understand her studies have been going well.” ‘Tai had been taking some rotations in secondary sickbay before Alexis left. She’d never really thought of herself as a teacher, or someone that should be teaching. Alexis tended to be too much in her own head to explain things well to others. Part of her bad bedside manner. She had found though that she had enjoyed the experience.

“And an artist as well, apparently. Better not let Dr. Marshall hear about that particular skill of hers,” Brad commented. It’s not that he had anything particular against surgeons, he just thought his staff had a few too many with that particular skill on their CV.

Alexis hadn’t had the opportunity to speak to Dr. Marshall since she returned from her ‘sabbatical.’ And depending on what Dr. Walker said the next day Alexis may not have a reason to talk to him at all. “He won’t hear it from me. My last understanding was that Miss Rainn was learning quite a bit from Dr. Solal. She was exploring all of her options, as it were.”

“That’s good to hear,” Brad replied. “And it’s not like we’re lacking for options when it comes to specialists to point her at, either,” he added.

Frigga came over and nosed at her hand and whined. “I’m being reminded it’s time to eat. She’s better than an alarm clock.”

“Alright,” Brad said. “I think I’ll head back out and do some more exploring. I don’t think I’ve been to the Bridge yet, that’s probably somewhere I should check out, since I technically am the Second Officer on this boat. See you tomorrow, Dr. Bonner.”
