“As it so happens, I am,” Elin replied with a grin. “And I would love to take a walk in some natural space. The Ogawa is beautiful in her own elegant way, but there is still nothing quite like the chaotic variety of plant life.”

“Wonderful,, and I agree,” Dira said. She led them out of the crew counselling space and through the corridors towards a turbolift.

“So, what else should I know about you? Pretend I haven’t red your file,” Myqian said with a grin. Of course, she had. Any of the new senior staff had been a high priority for her.

Elin chuckled in response, “Not everything makes it into our files you know, sometimes I feel like I have lived two different lives; one before, and one after Starfleet.” She paused and her expression sobered somewhat. “I thought I had my future all worked out and when it fell apart, Starfleet gave me a new one to look forward to.”

Dira nodded in understanding. “Many people find that. Sometimes you have to lose yourself a bit in order to find yourself,” she said with a soft smile before she turned to Elin. “Did you know that we have that in common? The losing a partner part. Mine died in the line of duty ten years ago. Engaged but not yet married. It took awhile to get my feet under me,” she said as they walked down the corridor to the turbolift that would take them to the arboretum.
