Looking up for a brief moment, Ria asked shyly, “You really don’t mind? Most people seem to get rather annoyed when I talk that much about science.” Her cheeks were still red and she was still fiddling with her braid, but she was a little less curled in on herself as she had been a moment before.

“No, I don’t mind. I imagine given time you will find that there is more to Miss Lyun than the just scientist. not to mention that I am rather week in my grasp of the hard sciences. They say we are never to old to learn.” The Klingon seems more than comfortable with the idea of listening to long chats with the scientist. “I would be more than happy to make this a regular occurance.”

Korak

The hint of a smile started to tug at the corners of her lips and eyes at Korak’s words. “Thank you, Sir,” she replied softly before falling silent once again. For a brief moment she had looked up at him, but as always quickly dropped her gaze again.

“Don’t let my appearance intimidate you, ensign. We are equals here.” Tapping his rank pips.” Despite being a lieutenant I am outside the command structure, on any mission you would take command over me. You earned your rank, and with it the right to meet any ones gaze.”

Ria blinked a few times, still staring at the ground, as she tried to figure out how to reply. She knew she was allowed to look people in the eye. She just … wasn’t very good at it. “Okay,” she replied softly, her eyes darting briefly up towards his face. Of course she knew that she should look up at him. Korak’s words had made that pretty obvious. But she still found herself unable to do so and part of her got a little annoyed with herself because of that.
