Over the ship’s internal communications announcement system the ship’s XO voice rang true, everyone had already heard about the ship departing soon but until now it had all been word of mouth.

“Leviathan personnel are to commence immediate boarding procedure, I repeat all Leviathan personnel are to commence immediate boarding procedure this is not a drill. Security personnel are to begin stowaway drills, Operations to begin boarding checks at all entrances, All hands secure stations and prepare for the immediate departure of Starbase 237” =^=

GLaDOS looked up from her console in the main labs and nodded quietly at her team before downloading the information onto a PaDD and heading out of the Labs. It was nearly time for the briefing.

Before she left, she did a brief glance over what information she had been able to glean about the ARU’s former encounters with radiation-emitting Newton-level anomalies. There were many of them, but a few threads stood out to her as being particularly relevant to this case.

The computer scrolled through the archive highlighting the main artifacts, there had been an incident with a pencil that had accidentally interrupted a terraforming experiment that now weighed a size of a small moon and had to be towed by four RTF vessels back to Starbase 237, the journey took two weeks and cost the RTF two new tractor beam emitters due to the strain it took, the pencil (a Staedtler pencil) now sat in a cell which had been specially designed to emit anti-gravitational beams.

There was an incident involving the USS Yatornio, which after a phasing technology accident gone wrong, the ship now contained the decayed remains of a crew) which slowly begin to recompose and change to resemble those in presence if they stick around long enough, the person it begins to recompose into is then drained of their life and completely replaced by this eviler version!

One extremely concerning incident involved an old severed hand from Earth’s Egyptian period, archeologist had recovered to after to had been lost during WW3. The USS Heppthestus was sent to recover the hand after reports of mysterious goings-on. Severely mummified and wearing a bracelet which was inscribed with the words: “cursed be he who moves my body.” A few days the Captain’s ready room was burned to the bulkheads and after refurbishing the room, its replicator began to replicate large amounts of water until the environmental system froze the water making the room unusable. The Room was cut away from the ship and has it’s own specially designed containment cell at Starbase 237 behind lead-lined walls.

And finally, a ukelele which when played caused all those within earshot of the beautiful deadly sounds had been discovered by the USS Identity, the person who had created the device had created the strings using those of a mystical creature still unidentified till this day made those who had succumbed to its music dance until they died of exhaustion, both the ukulele and the individual are detained also at Starbase 237.

The list went on and on, it was amazing frankly how many objects the RTF had contained in its short tenure.

=^=All Hands this is the XO we’re going to Yellow Alert Medical prepare for inbound casualties, department heads prepare a list of available crewmemebrs for away teams and prepare them for disembarkation. I say again, set Yellow alert through the ship.=^= The ship registered his command as the lighting to the CIC and typically the rest of the ship dsiplayed a Yellow symbol. With the last transmission as it was he wasn’t taking any risks.

=^= Science, I want you to brief the away team on everything you’ve learned about the anomaly. Load all critical points to the RTF Operative personal terminals and I want a comms buddy system with all members of the away team. Once they enter the Einstein their ability to think on their feet might be heavily compromised so, I want you to be available to do those critical calculations for them. =^=

It took a few minutes for the reports of away team member candidates to finally come through to his panel but finally a list had been generated, quickly flicking through he assigned members roles and responsibilities based on experience and profession before giving it the once over and having emoved several he felt could do without this one particular experience or wher ebetyer suited ship side. Fortunately for him Casela wouldn’t be going on this one, he allowed himself a fleeting glance towards her before clicking send to notify each individiaul to report to sickbay before the main Transporter room.

NE Blair, You have been assigned to away team one report to sickbay and then under the direction of the Away team leader Captain Manhattan prepare to disembark from the Main transporter room
