Over the ship’s internal communications announcement system the ship’s XO voice rang true, everyone had already heard about the ship departing soon but until now it had all been word of mouth.

“Leviathan personnel are to commence immediate boarding procedure, I repeat all Leviathan personnel are to commence immediate boarding procedure this is not a drill. Security personnel are to begin stowaway drills, Operations to begin boarding checks at all entrances, All hands secure stations and prepare for the immediate departure of Starbase 237” =^=

“Jesus,” Hampton said, looking at the mixture rates of the matter and anti matter elements in the warp core. “Thanks for asking me if we are ready guys.” =^= Bridge what is going on? We aren’t supposed to be done this early. =^=

The bridge comms channel was lighting up like an emergency telephone, as each successive department absorbed the announcement then compiled their own list of questions and complaints. Retreating to the sanctuary of his ready room so that he could at least enjoy a small tipple (medicinal, of course) while fielding the calls, Cobb settled into his chair and then dealt with each in turn.

=^=And if I’d had my way we’d have been moored for at least another week=^= the pebbledash tones of the captain drifted through to engineering. =^=But it seems there’s an emergency that needs our immediate attention and…well…I guess these ARU boys and girls don’t like to wait around.=^=

Then, in more hushed tones for the CE’s ears only, Zachariah added, =^=Hampton, listen…the base sparks weren’t fully done with the refit and…well, the Admiral insisted on a small team of them coming with us to finish things off. Now you know as well as I do what base engineers get rewarded for the hours they put in and it’s most certainly not enough to be dealing with all of this anomaly crap. So…as a personal favour to your captain, keep ‘em busy and away from any action, will you? =^=

=^=All Hands this is the XO we’re going to Yellow Alert Medical prepare for inbound casualties, department heads prepare a list of available crewmemebrs for away teams and prepare them for disembarkation. I say again, set Yellow alert through the ship.=^= The ship registered his command as the lighting to the CIC and typically the rest of the ship dsiplayed a Yellow symbol. With the last transmission as it was he wasn’t taking any risks.

Further instructions were relayed over the comms by the captain:

=^= Engineering, we’re about to drop to impulse speeds so have the engines primed and ready. Be prepared for anomalous effects from the nebula or whatever might be inside it. Current ARU alert level is yellow so get a temporary force field up around the warp core and the deuterium tanks. Also, I want the containment vessel to be loaded and ready to go from ARU transporter two. =^=

It took a few minutes for the reports of away team member candidates to finally come through to his panel but finally a list had been generated, quickly flicking through he assigned members roles and responsibilities based on experience and profession before giving it the once over and having emoved several he felt could do without this one particular experience or wher ebetyer suited ship side. Fortunately for him Casela wouldn’t be going on this one, he allowed himself a fleeting glance towards her before clicking send to notify each individiaul to report to sickbay before the main Transporter room.

Lieutenant Hampton, You have been assigned to away team one report to sickbay and then under the direction of the Away team leader Captain Manhattan prepare to disembark from the Main transporter room
