Casela now had a meeting with M Cpt Manhattan. His record impressed her and so far what she had seen didn’t give her any indication that it was “padded” to make him look competent. However, apparently he was cranky with no sleep. “Computer where is M. Cpt. Manhattan?” “M CPT MANHATTAN IS IN THE RTF OFFICE” Casela sighed, so much for putting it off for other work. What time was it now? She shrugged, it’s not like it mattered. When she was done there she had to check on Gen, take her for a physical and then find Cobb to talk to him. AND crew evals. UGH. Stupid psychological evaluations. Someone might be crazy as a fruit bat, but do a good job. Take Cobb, he was a drunk, but had the potential to be a leader willingly followed by everyone on the ship. Casela growled under her breath. Who had time for this crap?
She walked to the RTF office and rang the chime, for once, politely waiting.
Lt. Synthi-erErve was compiling some office paper at that moment. He swore the whole time since he started looking at the PaDDs to check that everything was “Fine”. Departing early made his department unprepared and several items were missing or out of service due to the unfinished wiring. One of those was the AARM revision and he honestly didn’t wanted to pass the whole day doing the office man “Ugh, what now?” He looked the old bajoran clock he took with him aboard “Ah.”
As he put the whole bunch of PaDDs away and prepared a briefcase near his seat, the Captain looked over the desk staring at the door “Come in, Lieutenant…” he sighed backing on the seat support Should’ve refused the job if I knew I was going just to sign paperworks.
Entering the office Casela would have seen it wasn’t that much. It apparently was once a warden storage room and indeed it was cramped and had just a tiny and insignificant window. But Erve gave some effort to decorate the office and indeed some colors contrasted the standard starfleet wallpaper. As said before, the Bajoran had an old bajoran clock over the door frame. Weapons were encased in a wooden handcrafted display furniture and the seats weren’t the boring grey ones but instead some comfy sofas. He didn’t really liked being comfortable but instead he wanted his subordinates to feel “good” while he did some mind jokes and extort some “informations”.
Other than that behind his desk some frames contained his Academical Awards and Degrees. Over the tiny window hanged his favorite weapon: a non-replicated and authentic antique Corsair Scimitar with a golden refined handgrip and Damascus tempered blade… it was worth that fight over the market time ago.M. Casela entered, taking in the office. Casela’s bun was half undone and she was still wearing her “gym” clothes. She walked a little more than stiff. He’d told her to report immediately and so she had. Comfey couches? Here? She was sure the was a point. She certainly wouldn’t be sitting there, right now. She’d be lucky to sit in a regular chair and get up again. She spent a good moment examining the Scimitar from her spot by the door. “It’s a beautiful weapon, and still functional. The damascus looks to be 200 folds?” She asked him looking back at him from the blade. “You wanted to see me?”
Lt. Synthi-er
“Yes it is… 200 folds, 1680s circa.” he laid down his elbows on the desk and united all of his fingers making a sort of pyramid structure “But that’s not the point, Casela. I wanted you here to discuss politely about the reason that lead you to ran away all of a sudden and because I do have something to give you, Lieutenant. You know I should impone you a salty punishment but…” he stopped and stood up putting the briefcase on the desk “Apparently the XO provided it before I could. So before we open this ‘fancy’ case, tell me, were you going to chase the NE?” He walked behind Casela’s back, opening the display and taking out an old but trusty combat knife.

Casela started to laugh, and thought better of it. “Oh is THAT what got you two all hot and bothered. No, I was not running away, I was going to get a new memory core and processor for the AARM so I would already have it if I needed it for his reprogramming. And no, Cpt Manhattan, if I wanted to hurt the ensign, I would have done it before I called you. What would be the point in waiting? I’m Betazoid, I could take the guilt from him if I wanted, but I didn’t. I could over load his brain, if I wanted, but I didn’t. He’s your responsibility or Rauuhl’s. I don’t care, either way. I have too much to do to chase wayward naughty little boys.” She leaned back against the wall and dabbed at a trickle of blood on the corner of her mouth. “Does that put your mind at ease?” Make you more comfortable that a woman ‘can’t’ act like that. She wanted to curse again.
Lt. Synthi-er
“Hm.” He mumbled “To be honest? No I was bothered just for the sleep. As a security Officer in the past I had lot of no-sleep situation. It is not really a problem, I can stay up for 72 hours straight before napping some 30 minutes and get working again. I am just too susceptible to irritation just that… I saw friction between you two-.” Looking better the Lieutenant he noticed her bruises and injuries Commander, Commander… you stupid cunt he started swearing in his mind “Don’t tell me we travelled back to medieval time.” Rushing to take the dermal regenerator he then synthesized some blankets to cover the blood spots. With some more calm he then approached the Lieutenant and started healing her taking one of her arms “Unfortunately I can’t heal up everything so a journey to the infirmary is still necessary…”
Standing then up, Erve put back the regenerator in the first aid kit making a decent work stabilizing some of the contusions. He stood up, walked a bit around the room and sat back on the other side of the desk “Lieutenant… Working with ya will be a struggle, I must be honest, beside this apparent hate between you and the XO. Your character isn’t something that Starfleet’s normally seek but the RTF does. I read you are capable of combat, of self-defense and have others skills useful for this ship. I need you, but as some of the reports in your personal database tells a story, You need discipline, which lacks in you apparently.” He tapped the desk surface “I will not beat you up like Mr. Ryder, but from now I want you to be less aggressive with the Seniors Officers and non-RTF crew. Oh and I will appoint you a daily combat and recovery training. This includes lethal weapons replicas, realistic but not too much. They can hurt people.” Now things were calmer, more soothing. It was time to make the next move before the Counselor could say anything else “Open the Brief case.”
Inside the briefcase there was an RTF handcrafted uniform from an unknown tailor. It had Casela’s size and beside she would haven’t probably told anyone her waist size and circumference, the tailoring could be almost considered “perfect” and suiting… the first time with Erve was almost the same: he literally did not knew how they got the size correct. With the uniform a Mk. VII baton, an access iso-chips to Abell Conditions anomalies and a personal modified rail hand-gun were stuffed aside with a couple of rounds. All of this with a letter which was given to all RTF agents who received finally their official uniform and gearing.
