Posted by… suppressed (1) by the Post Ghost! 👻Ryder had already arrived and was waiting for Lieutenant Synthi-er who since having met the pair had been unable to find common ground but hopefully, this is what both of them needed to distinguish the flame of anger which had started growing. Dressed in gym clothes of shorts, a tank top, his hands wrapped and a gum shield in it was clear what his intentions were, they were going to spar out their difference for better or for worst. He had brought up all the memories and experiences Noa had of her and was allowing them to fuel him in the hope that it would be closure for the departed Trill.
- Commander Ryder, XO
Casela stepped off the turbolift and saw Ryder. She nodded aknoweldging she saw what his intention was. She was dressed in black gi pants and a black underarmour t-shirt. Without a word she stepped into the training room. She pulled her hair out, shook it and twisted it up into a low bun, held by an elastic band–her hair pins locked up with the rest of her weapons. She grabbed two tight woven hand wraps. She began wrapping them around her knucles, thumb, wrist and forearm. Criss-crossing the pattern and then wrapping down her fore arm and back up. Then she wrapped the other hand. Casela, you have to remember, sparing is practice. You aren’t here to prove a point, you are here to learn and improve. Admiral T’Jal’s words echoed to her over the years. Yeah well he has something else in mind, doesn’t he. T’Jal had drilled her to NEVER use telepathy when fighting. It had to be instinctual. If you doubted your interpretation of their toughts, you’d miss the telegraph in their movements. Casela. What can you learn from this? You must ALWAYS learn, or you die. T’Jal’s advice again.
Ryder watched he back-peddling slowly as he continued his wrap before stopping in the center of the room and out onto the mats he had placed the only lighting in the room that was on was directly above him and illuminating every part of his body. He waited for her to follow him onto the mat and whilst doing so rolled his shoulders, his wrists, and his neck as he limbered up ready for the attack onto his body. He couldn’t help but marvel somewhat in her beauty as she was stripped down out of uniform and in her what he believed most natural state, a warrior princess in his eyes. He almost regrets doing what was about to happen, but she’d never know that.
She was so going to the brig for this. But, he did look good, standing there, the light casting shadows, but instead of appraising him as attractive, her eyes took in every inch and possible weakness. She just hoped he could take the beating he was going to get. Casela focus on the task, and waste no movement. Again T’Jal’s words came back to her, And make them pay for underestemating you. F’actar was a beast of a half Klingon/Vulcan to come up against.
Casela turned looking at Ryder. Her black eyes were ice and she was annoyed, maybe a little angry. When she had arrived she’d sensed the anger building in him and shrugged it aside. His anger was his problem. Well now it was hers, she supposed. Now she was starting to understand T’Jal and F’actar’s (T’Jal’s only friend and partner through their years in Recon Alpha) approach to the world. “So, this is your show. What now?”
Lt. Synthi-erHe eyed her now more like a serpent readying itself to attack, if he was a rattlesnake he’d be rattling, “Noa was right about you Casela!” Spoke the Trill XO not pausing to think now and allowing his unfriendly previous host to take over his mind slightly, “You’re reckless!” He threw a jab towards her gut aiming carefully between her hipbone and breast.
Casela stood very still watching. He was goading her and she knew it. She waited, balanced on the balls of her feet. The first jab coming fast and she stepped to the side, his knuckles grazing her ribs. He’s faster than he looks. Faster than Noa. Note that and move on. As she twisted her first knuckle extended slightly in her fist and she punched, right to the forearm, between the muscles of his extended arm. The power coming from her hip and shoulder, and moving through the arm rather than stopping on contact.
“You’re undisciplined” Ryder attacked this time with his left hand towards her opposite flank mirrored to where he had just attempted to strike whilst her balance appeared off, his previous attack not seeming to do anything to her, so this time he cranked up the power. Ryder didn’t allow her to read his mind he had known how to before and he knew now before he hadn’t bothered throwing up the walls but that’s what his mind was right now an impenetrable fortress.
The second punch landed hard, she fell back arms spread out to spread the impact, instead of rolling away, she rolled towards him, her foot reaching out to connect with the inside of his front knee, and then a forward roll that brought her up behind him and a side snap to the middle of his back. She did her best to ignore his words. She’d heard them before, and she would again. She didn’t care. If she had been taking the time to try and read his mind she would have been impressed with the lack of information, but this…this was instinct plane and simple.
“And you’re a volatile mess!” This time his punch was a straight-up undercut towards her chin, Ryder wasn’t exactly muscular but he knew how to fight off all his previous hosts only one was actually trained in any type of fighting but he knew to pull the power from his hips and certainly not to pull any punches at the risk of injuring yourself. Sweat dripped from his forehead his footwork keeping the pair of them working hard as he fired several more jabs towards her, his knuckled were raw from the contacts.
- Commander Ryder, XO
Her eyes gleamed wickedly. “I might be, but at least I’m not a coward, like you.” She spat blood on the floor. She crossed her arms at the forearms sweeping the upper cut up and away from her, the impact jarring her arms though, leaving bruises. Once Ryder’s arm was up she tried for hard, front thrust to his stomach. Contact made or not, she dropped sweeping her leg out to knock him off balance to floor.Lt. LSynthi-er
Feeling several bruises and lumps already forming Ryder saw both the jab and her legs as she arched them towards her. He felt the wind from escape his stomach leaving hom brsayhless as he jumped up and missed the leg swipe but the force from her lunch sent him backward and landing face first on the mat his nose cracking as it hit the floor.
Casela nimbly jumped back to her feet. “Stay down Rauuhl. You couldn’t take it then, and now it’s only going to get worse.” She taunted him, she wanted him to get up. She wasn’t done yet.
Rolling back to his feet he was facing the opposite wall, he spun leading with his right heel aimed towards her face, the Trill followed the attack with his left leg as he twisted in the air his whole body almost appearing as he was levitating for a fraction before his right leg touched the floor balancing himself out.
- Commander Ryder, XO
He moved fast, she’d give him that. She spun into his kick, taking the power away from it, coming with a backhand aimed at his solar plexis. But the twist of his attack caught her and took her to the floor. She hit hard, slamming the air out of her lungs. She took a backwards tumble roll back to her feet and balanced on the balls of her feet, watching him carefully. Where had THAT come from. Not from Noa. She was sweating, but kept her breathing even. She shifted just slightly, “Come on. I’m just a woman. Can’t you do better? Oh…right, Noa was afraid of women.” Her laughter taunted him, goading him to do something.
Lt. Synthi-er
So this was how she wanted to play it, it’s how he wanted to play it too so Ryder came with a shout. He jabbed with his right arm, straight and true, span behind himself and followed through with his left elbow, before rolling into a sweeping arc with his left leg to deal a triple threat combo blow, Kalas fighting techniques proving against his opponent. “I. AM. NOT. NOA” He jumped now, up high bringing his right fist down onto her with all his might for better of for worst.
- Commander Ryder, XO
Casela waited, and with a swift middle block she swept the first punch out of the way, but didn’t move fast enough and the elbow caught her right across the jaw, blooding her mouth, the blow making her eyes and ears ring, the sweep taking her down. She heard him yell first, and then him coming down towards her. Her gaze wicked, she’d got to him. She lifted her feet and hands, catching him and pushing him over her head to throw him across the floor, but instead she rolled with him, landing with a knee just below his solar plexis. “Prove. It.” she taunted as her the heel of hand came at him for an ox-jaw strike to the nose.
