Laural took a slow breath after hearing her office door chime. It wasn’t that she dreaded this meeting or that she felt unprepared. She loved meeting new people and hearing their experiences and she felt privileged to support people emotionally. No, Laural had nothing against the person on the other side of the door.

What she readily acknowledged, however, was the revolving door that had become the Levi’s command staff. The constant and sudden leadership changes were jarring for herself and the crew, and while Starfleet personnel were taught to adapt and overcome, there was only so far such resilience could take them. She also recognized it couldn’t be easy for Myles either, and while deep down, Wit wasn’t going to get her hopes up that this would be the time command would allow them some stability.

“Come in,” Laural called out, the doors automatically opening at the sound of her voice. She smiled when she saw Myles. “Hello, please, come in,”

Elora tugged her uniform, it always felt tight and seemed to ride up. “Thank you doctor,” she said as she walked in. “Elora Myles” she said holding her hand forward. She was a fit woman, her file would show a strict exercise regiment that would rival any professional athlete.
