After meeting the counselor and the CMO. He went ahead and left the counselors office. However, he knows that the captain doesn’t like to be kept waiting according from Starfleet. So Hall went ahead and headed to go to the captains ready room. He had sighed as if he was nervous. Nervous to make a first impression? Maybe. Nervous because he was assigned to a vessel he knows nothing about? Maybe. But his main objective is making the best first impression he can before shift. He stood there for a while before even thinking about pressing the come. After standing there in silence he then finally took the guts to ring the chime and stand there awaiting for the captain.

On Shock’s orders, the doors opened.

“Come on in, commander,” Shock said. “I am Shock, captain and commanding officer of this ship. I presume you are Mr Angel?”

He walked in and nodded. “Yes captain.” He replied.

“Very good, please enter.” Shock went to the replicator. “It is agreeable to meet you, commander. Would you like me to replicate you a drink? I also have a pot of dahongpao tea steeping on my desk, that we could share.”

He came in further and sat down. “Yes sir. I would most willing to share the steaming pot of dahongpao tea with you sir.” He replied with a smile.

Shock took a seat himself, and poured a cup for Angel and for himself. He handed Angel the cup.

“I am curious,” Shock said, “as for your nickname, Markiplier, which has been significant enough to be written into your file. Will you tell me about it?”

“Yes sir. The Nickname Markiplier. My closest friends always called me that back at the academy. Only because I was able to mark everyone as my best friends hence the name Markiplier.” He replied.

Shock was confused – this did not answer his question in full in his view. Perhaps there were human nuances here, but Shock couldn’t grasp the logic between cause and result. He decided to be polite and move on though.

“Thank you,” he said, before taking a sip of the tea. It was still a little hot. It would need resting another minute or so. “What caused your transfer from the Memorial here?”

“Sir. I felt like it was time to move on and honestly find a different position. There was very little for me to do anything over there. And I feel more comfortable doing things with my hands more than doing nothing.” He replied.

Shock nodded, as he took another sip of tea. He needed to explore this, so that he could help Angel better in this new position.

“Please tell me more about your time on the Memorial, your duties and responsibilities there.”

Lucas smiled and looked back at him while drinking his tea. “I was Chief Science Officer at the rank of Lieutenant and then got promoted to Lieutenant Commander. And the operations was way to slow. But honestly, being the Chief of Operations should be different for me. You know working with Engineering, will be more exciting then sitting in a science lab all day investigating everything.” He explained as he sipped his tea.

Shock thought about the answer he got. He had some concerns that Angel might be one of those people who demand constant stimulation, who might get bored easily. Yet, he had an impeccable record, which was why Shock signed him on as chief of operations.

“I trust you will perform admirably,” he said concluding his analysis. “What do you expect from me as your commanding officer? How can I help you excel and develop?”

“Yes sir. I will perform admirably.” He replied to the captain. “Honestly sir, just help me get situated maybe even a tour around as well so I know what to expect.” Lucas added after answering the question.

“Very good, Mr Angel. I will have a yeoman give you a tour. Any questions to me?”

“No sir.” He said with a smile.

With that, Shock rose from his seat, indicating an end to the meeting.

“It has been agreeable meeting you. I regret that our collaboration will be short. I have orders to transfer to another ship.”
