For decades had he been patient, the aged withering of his intellect kept at bay by continual acumination of his plans. This moment he had mentally choreographed down to a breath, the adrenaline rush of delayed vengeance a potent fuel to this old man’s anger. And there, in the centre of the bridge, it had all conspired to culminate in the most grand and glorious moment with he the magnificent and all-conquering hero…

One sentence was all it had taken to turn this intricately-crafted occasion to ash. As first the voice of Lt Synthi-er and then the tones of his tactical officer broke the waves of his crescendo, their curious descriptions of this Breen ship saw the mighty Cobb cast for all the world as the Fool.
“Know thy self, know thy enemy. A thousand battles, a thousand victories,” he whispered as the last tendrils of sunlight set on this battlefield. Then, turning to the tactical station he cleared his throat and added, “Either the years, or the isolation from the rest of their battalion, has weakened them, or they are not who they claim to be at all.”

When the threat eventually came, it barely even registered against the scourge of his own disappointment. With an apathetic shrug he replied,
=^= And this is the USS Leviathan. And we both know that your ship would be decimated in a second if we charged even a tenth of our weapons array. Technology has advanced greatly since the days of the Dominion and you can’t even pretend to be a match for the starships of the day. So why don’t you stop the bloody posturing and tell me who you really are and what the hell you’re doing in this area, eh? =^=

In response came the digitized voice again, =^=This is the Breen Warship Dresna. You will surrender. =^= And then there was unmistakable alert of ship’s phasers firing at the Leviathan’s front hull. Then came a very child like voice =^=You have stolen the might shuttle from us. Give it back to us!=^= The Breen ship began a slow turn back around to take up a position facing the Leviathan.

Casela raised a brow, “That doesn’t sound like some thing a Breen soldier would say. Bog can we detonate those decoys? Distract them or damage them just a little?”
Lt. Synthi-er, CNS

“That is because they are Polka, or I’m a Vulcan. Dummest scavengers in the Galaxy they are.” Chuckled Bog. “Send a tight beam to Leviathan and inform them of the same , Huey then dial up a Klingon warbird squawking the ghost busters theme as IFF.” Turning to the Counselor, “How good are you at playing poker?”

Casela could not picture ANY Klingon going for the ghost busters…and there was something about it that Bog was attached to. She supposed she’d need to watch the films at some point. It might give her some insight into the Tellarite engineer. At his question, Casela turned her head very slowly and stared at him. “What do you think?” She was actually insulted that time.
Lt. Synthi-er, CNS

“If I am right, and I know I am I am counting on your bluff and Huey laying down a good version of you as a Klingon to scare them back to the hells that sooner them!” The disturbing grin “I am counting on our Captain to recognize our IFF from our resent adventures.”

Bog, third rate gambler…

“You want me to pretend to be a Klingon?” She shrugged, “I’ve done harder impersonations.” She sits up in her chair and turns to look at Alfred, “It will look like I’m on a Klingon battle cruiser’s bridge, right? The effect is lost otherwise.” And then she sneers inwardly. Klingon battle armor for females is so disgustingly useless. “Is the Levi receiving all of this Alfred. We don’t need them thinking we are being attacked by all sides.” Reassured that Alfred had passed the information to Cobb and McReady, Casela nodded to Bog. “Let’s see if they buy the poker face.”
