The woman smiled. “I have a better idea.” She shifted back into the ball of light and flew away through the bulkhead and disappeared.
A few moments later, power seemed to be restoring itself and the consoles stopped blinking.

With the disappearance of the adversarial light-woman, Osten sprinted across engineering and slid on his knees to Orin’s side. Vital, imperative seconds had passed, but Osten couldn’t do nothing. He leaned over the fallen Lieutenant, performing CPR with the precision and determination of a man who had been trained for this and refused to fail. He continued repeating the rounds of breathing and pumping the chest without indication of stopping even if it had no effect.
NEnsign Astin had recovered and moved to join Osten at Orin’s side, poised to take a turn with the compressions should Osten need a break. Osten never paused to allow her to switch in. Astin saw the consoles around her restoring power and slapped her comm badge. =^= NEnsign Astin to Sickbay! We need a doctor in engineering, medical emergency! =^=

As the lighting strips switch to red and the warning claxions sound. “Oh hell no!”raising up and bumping his head in the Jeffrie’s tube. “ what have you crazy buggers done now?!” Taking a deep breath and securing the EDS relay from diagnostic mode to operating mode and replacing the service panel. =^= computer, ditty bag Reed S1 and transport to Maine Enginering, Transporter Console! =^=
The computer quickly scans Main engineering for safe transport and verifies the Transpoter console is empty and transports him to his battle station. Holding the confinement beam for a few seconds to provide protection wile Stores orientates him self.
=^= Ensin Reed reporting to station =^=
Glancing around and seeing the chaos in Main engineering, “Crap!” Jumping up and rummaging his pockets for his hand scanner, he kneels beside the prostrate Cheif Engineer, and with a quick pass of the hand scanner. =^= Enginering to Sick Bay, cancel medical teem and prepare for emergency transport =^= ,=^= computer, emergency transport. Transport the Cheif to sickbay =^=
Standing up and looking around again, then turning to the senior officer ‘I can’t leave y’all alone for a moment and everything goes to hell! What happend” as Stores Keys his tricorder to provide heads up display of the main transporter console…Clinton “Stores”Reed. Supercargo
Scanning the room, and seeing NE Austin is also down, =^= sick bay, we are sending another one, stand by=^=. Stores crosses Enginering and quickly scanned the unconscious man. =^= computer prepaid for emergency transport, computer transport Mr. Austin to sickbay=^=
“Well” Sores turns his attention tord Ensin Osten. “Let’s have a look at you”Clinton “Stores” Reed, Supercargo.
Ensign Osten and NEnsign Astin watched with fallen faces as Orin was transported away. Slowly, Osten rose from his knees and took a step toward Ensign Reed, eyes hard and jaw clenched. “The Dresden is just restoring power when we’ve been under attack. Lieutenant Orin is dead. I didn’t transport him because it would use time from the emergency transporters that might be needed to save others in critical condition that are actually still alive and it would draw power from other systems that might prevent more deaths. I don’t appreciate you overriding my judgement.”
NEnsign Astin followed Wiles as he stood, and the brunette woman stepped between Osten and Reed. “It’s done now,” she said diplomatically, giving Osten a look. “Sickbay will determine if there’s anything they can do and if not, they will move on to someone they can help.” Astin glanced at Reed. “Computer cancel the order for my transport to sickbay, I’m alright, thank you.”
Wiles swatted Reed’s scanner away. “I’m fine,” he hissed. Obviously the two security officers were shaken by the attack, and the death of the chief engineer.
