With the Captain’s orders in her mind, Ellie begins running continuous scans on the warp core, making sure that the chronitons were not affecting the engine. She had another engineer monitoring the rest of the ships systems to ensure that they were no being affected.

Ensign Osten’s golden uniform stood out as he walked quickly through engineering, flanked by his partner, NE Astin. Scanning the room as he kept moving, Osten’s eyes eventually settled on Lieutenant Junior Grade Kleinhoffer.

Approaching, he called out, “Security check-in, everyone accounted for?” As division three officer, Wiles was responsible for security on decks 16 through 24 of the Dresen, which included main engineering. Perhaps he was being a little too cautious, but it was yellow alert, after all.

Ellie looked up “Problem?” She asked the security officers as she continued scanning the warp core and watched the other engineers.

Wiles breathed out softly through his nose, a sign of slight impatient annoyance. “That’s what I was asking you,” he said in a measured tone.

“But,” he continued while turning away, “I’ll take your nonchalantness as my answer. Have you seen Lieutenant Commander Losc?”
