Domingo smiled broadly, holding the wayward sock in his hand before tossing it aside. Boots and socks removed, he likewise rolled up his trouser legs and tugged at his tunic, thus pulling it up and over his head then tossing it aside. His upper torso had an impressive, or frightening depending on your perspective, array of scars from various weapons and other tools, but his expression was unchanging after shucking the tunic.

Closing his eyes and still with a smile on his face, he just enjoyed the warmth enveloping his feet. Opening his eyes once again, he stepped towards Katie and held his hand out to her again.

“Let us go enjoy ourselves, my dear girl.”

Katie’s features flushed a deep red at Chavez’s words or perhaps it was simply the effect of the quantity of alcohol she had consumed at the lounge. Her eyes drifted to his torso and she froze in place as they catalogued the variety of scars that decorated it. Worry and concern filled her blue eyes as they drifted up to meet his and she reached out with her free hand to gently touch one of the scars. She bit her lip and dropped her hand after a moment, her gaze questioning, but soon she returned her eyes to the vast stretch of sand and water in front of them. She stepped ahead of Chavez, tugging on his hand slightly to lead him to where the ocean waves just drifted slightly up the sand.

Domingo followed her lead towards the ocean lightly kicking the sand along the way.

“I only got a chance to visit this beach after joining Starfleet. My grandmother and I lived more inland, not near any beaches. I brought her to the beach right after graduating from the academy. She’d seen oceans and beaches before, but she fell in love with this one the moment she saw it. I don’t know if you’ve ever been to the beach in Cabo, but I wanted to share this with you after you’ve been so nice.”

He smiled a little shyly after that confession and looked at his feet as they continued the stroll.
