Domingo took Katie’s hand firmly and turned to leave the lounge, nodding at the waiter at the way out. They walked through the corridors while he knew not what to talk about. Domingo was just happy at her presence, not feeling the need to verbalize his thoughts.
A turbolift ride and another few minutes of walking later, they arrived in front of a free holodeck. Using his free hand, Domingo called up a program of a nice Mexican beach in Cabo. He gently led the way through the doors and let them close behind them before lifting a foot to take off his shoe.

Before Chavez could even take one shoe off, Katie’s black boots flew across his sight line as she tossed them aside, a pair of fuzzy pink and purple socks soon following after, although one balled up one may have been aimed at his head. It was truly anyone’s guess. A satisfied groan and then a giggle of pleasure escaped her lips as she wiggled her feet in the warm sand. She plopped down, bending forward to roll the bottom of her uniform trousers up to just below her knees. Looking up at Chavez from her seated position, she gave him a slightly mournful look as she commented, “we probably should have stopped at our quarters first for more appropriate clothing.”
Without unseating her feet from their sandy prison, she rocked back up to her feet and pulled her uniform top over her head in one swift motion, revealing a dark gray camisole underneath. Tossing it to the side, she shrugged and said, “this will have to do.” Slowly, she unearthed one foot and then the other before holding her hand out to Chavez again. “I believe you mentioned a walk, dear sir?” she inquired impishly, tilting her head to the side to give him a wide grin.

Domingo smiled broadly, holding the wayward sock in his hand before tossing it aside. Boots and socks removed, he likewise rolled up his trouser legs and tugged at his tunic, thus pulling it up and over his head then tossing it aside. His upper torso had an impressive, or frightening depending on your perspective, array of scars from various weapons and other tools, but his expression was unchanging after shucking the tunic.
Closing his eyes and still with a smile on his face, he just enjoyed the warmth enveloping his feet. Opening his eyes once again, he stepped towards Katie and held his hand out to her again.
“Let us go enjoy ourselves, my dear girl.”

Katie’s features flushed a deep red at Chavez’s words or perhaps it was simply the effect of the quantity of alcohol she had consumed at the lounge. Her eyes drifted to his torso and she froze in place as they catalogued the variety of scars that decorated it. Worry and concern filled her blue eyes as they drifted up to meet his and she reached out with her free hand to gently touch one of the scars. She bit her lip and dropped her hand after a moment, her gaze questioning, but soon she returned her eyes to the vast stretch of sand and water in front of them. She stepped ahead of Chavez, tugging on his hand slightly to lead him to where the ocean waves just drifted slightly up the sand.
