Katie gave him a blank look and then an amused smile. “You did hear me when I said I’m the counselor, right? I have no idea where the armory is,” she replied with a smirk despite the severity of the situation. “I’m not sure you’re in condition to go anywhere, either,” she added, resting her hands on her hips as she studied the ensign.

It was Domingo’s turn to have a blank look on his face. His look turned into a sheepish grin when he got reminded that he was still hurt. A hypo can help feel better, but more comprehensive treatment was needed to get back into fighting shape.
“Fair enough Ma’am.” Domingo replied while his sheepish grin shifted into a smile, “I forget sometimes that other officers don’t have an intimate knowledge of the layout of the ship. Must be a security thing, well, and probably engineering. As for my condition you are most likely correct. I don’t know if we have the benefit of my being down if the intruders make it to here with the injured about. Can you tell me of where you were met with phaser fire?”
The slight amusement that had come onto Katie’s features quickly disappeared at Domingo’s question. Her eyes got a faraway look as she briefly relived the terrifying experience of waking from her all too realistic nightmare and then making her way to Sickbay. It was obvious that she was fighting to bring her mind back to the present and one forced deep breath later, she responded, her voice slightly shaky, “I was in my quarters on deck five. I made it to the Turbolift and then here.”

“I have to agree with the Counsellor,” the voice of the young CMO joined in as she entered sickbay carrying a wiggling bundle of black and white fur in her arms. She had caught the last of the conversation as she entered and was quick to make her way over with Enj to see what was going on. “You are not in any condition to go running off to any battles. At least not until I’ve taken a look at you.”

CMODomingo was reaching out a hand to hold Katie’s shoulder to show support as he clearly recognized the look in her eyes, but stopped abruptly when another person surprised him by joining the conversation. A look of trepidation flashed quickly across his face as he withdrew his reaching hand, before settling back with a somber expression.
Katie froze as Domingo’s hand reached out and she let out the breath she didn’t realize she was holding as the hand stopped as a voice interrupted.
He turned his head to meet the new voice and gave a brief nod of greeting before responding, “You’re probably also correct Ma’am, but if intruders were only two decks up then we could be in imminent danger. I’ll consent to getting checked over as long as you can patch me up enough to move around and fight if it comes to that. I’m afraid we may not have the luxury for more than that right now.”

A rush of relief came over Charlie as she heard the familiar voice of the CMO. As she wiped a tear away, she gave Enj a quick scratch on the head before instinctively hugging Janvier, pushing all protocol aside momentarily. She let out a quick gasp as the pain in her side rose to the surface again but she hastily gritted her teeth and pushed it to the back of her mind. “Are you alright doctor? Are you injured?” she asked, quickly shifting the focus back to Janvier.
Dr Bailey
Katie watched the doctors descend on them and gave a small smile to Chavez. “Well, it looks like you’re in good hands now,” she offered, softly, only for him to hear, and then turned her attention to Bailey and Janvier.
“Doctor Janvier, I don’t believe we’ve met, I’m Commander Nunn, the ship’s counselor,” she hurriedly introduced herself, not bothering to extend her hand for any pleasantries. “This man has a concussion,” she pointed at the security officer before continuing, “and this woman has some serious internal stuff going on, as evidenced by her wince.”
