The break in his captors’ attention was just the moment the Marine was waiting for. With a snap side step, the .45 tucked under his left arm was whisked from its holster and the few seconds that followed were in stark contrast to the moments of silence before. The Old Earth slug thrower roared to life as four rapid fired hollow points slammed into the one with the rifle still in his direction before Harris shifted his fire to the second, then third remaining member of the party before him. It was a violent, unapologetic response to the intruders of his ship. The concussion of the near four seconds of continuous fire echoed throughout the room and boomed into the corridor beyond. Fourteen rounds from the Glock 21 sliced through the air before the firing paused for just over a second before three more rounds cracked off a hair’s width after a spent magazine clattered to the floor. The last three shots aimed to the center of the attacker’s face mask

Bright pink blood covered the CO as it burst from the chest cavity of his assailant at such close range. A gaping hole in his chest and the shattered remnants of his helmet lay near a rapidly expanding puddle of that same bright pink blood. Oddly, the second man, taken entirely by surprise in the back as he flew forward from the kinetic force of so many rounds at such close range, did not release the same bright pink blood, but a rusty dark brown/red. Looking down at what was left of his assailants head, Harris would find the telltale forehead ridges and thick, black hair of a Klingon staring back at him from lifeless eyes.

The Marine spat the blood from his lips and wiped the excess clear of his face with his left hand, his right still firmly holding the Glock 21 which was currently leveled at the door. Quickly grabbing the hem of the now blood-covered tunic, Cal tore it off and used the dry back to finish wiping off his face… switching hands to keep the pistol leveled at the door as he hastily donned yesterday’s tunic from the back of his desk chair and clipped on a clean CommBadge. The last thing he did before starting for the door was carefully wipe the blood from his sidearm and wrap his belt holster around his waist.
Stepping toward the door, less than a minute after the last shot was fired, Harris tapped his Commbadge. =A= Harris to Bridge… four intruders down in Command Country. I’m on my way up. What the hell is going on COB?!=A=
The COB’s voice came over the comm broken, he sounded injured. =^=We are not sure sir, the damage we sustained is extensive. Internal sensors are down, I have alerted security to the intruders, but we don’t know where they all are. The turbolifts are locked down, but the bridge is secure. =^=
=A= Good…=A= Came the quick response. =A= I’m on my way up. If I’m not on the Bridge in two minutes, send a detail to Command Country, I’m on my way.=A= Taking his weapon in both hands, he stalked toward the exit.
As he stepped toward the door, the Marine barked. “If your ass ain’t in a Fleet Tunic… I got ten more with your names on it Frackers!” Kicking the crumped body of the one he shoot first as he stepped over it, Harris checked first toward the direction of Manning’s door then back toward the origination of the other phaser blast. He stepped out, cautiously.

“I must say, nice shooting Colonel. I don’t think they were expecting a marine as the Captain of the ship. They should have done some more research.” Hannibal said simply, as if he was discussing it over breakfast. He emerged from the shadows and walked towards the Colonel, stepping over the dead bodies as he did so.
There was nothing immediately obvious near him. His opponents were quite clearly dead.

“Thanks Chief.” The Dresden’s Commanding Officer raised an eyebrow and for a fleeting moment, a slight smirk came across his stoic expression before it flashed away once more. “Yes, the bastards should have.”
“You alright Colonel?” He asked, more out of courtesy then concern.

There was then a small huff that came from the Marine. “Hell… I’m alright Ashur.” The man said almost in a scoff as he returned his sidearm to its holster, the securing tab still open. “Right now, I need to be on the Bridge.” With that, he began moving toward the lift.
At that moment, Amelia’s voice came over the comm. =/\= Manning to Harris, I made it to the Bridge, Colonel. I’m holding the fort until you get here. =/\=
Cmdr. Manning, XO
=A= Amelia, I need confirmation of the Senior Staff… Chief Ashur is with me. Find the rest of the staff… I don’t need a damn confab, Commander. I need everyone doing their frackin’ jobs but accounted for. There in 30. Harris out.=A=
As he reached the Turbolift , Harris hit the call button and drew his pistol. “Be ready to kill anything already in here Lieutenant.” Harris then backed to one side and nodded to the other side for Ashur. “As of this moment Hannibal, Lethal Force is authorized. Switch to Level 10”. Then they waited.

As the turbolift doors parted, revealing emptiness, a crash behind them alerted them to another presence. Behind them, a pair of the intruders lumbered around a corner, dragging what looked like a weapons locker.

Using the knowledge he had… obtained… from his previous ‘encounter’ and without a second thought, Harris sent a hail of six rounds down the corridor. The first two rounds were one-two shots to the center of the helmet facemasks of the intruders, before two additional rounds fired center mass on both targets. Following not even a second later, the Marine charged the pair ready to send home the final four rounds from his sidearm.

The faces of their two final enemies exploded outwards in a hail of transparent aluminium as blood gushed and they dropped to the deck, extremely dead.
