Paul walked in the lounge in a really nice dress clothing off-duty uniform. As he moved to the Bar. As he waited for the bartender to see him so he could take his order.
About a minute later after gathering someone else’s order and delivering it, He came over towards Pawl. “What can I get you sir?” the Ne Bartender asked calmly to him.
“Let’s see How about a large salad with Russian dressing and croutons. And a large iced sweet tea.” Pawl ordered quickly as he waited for the order to come up.

Orin came in shortly after dressed in casual off duty wear of a blue t-shirt, red shorts, and bare foot. His hair looked like fine copper wire but moved like normal hair. He sat down next to Pawl and leaned on the bar waiting for his turn to make his order.

“Hello, Orio is it.” Pawl said calmly “Your definitely relaxed.”

Orin smiled. It wasn’t the first time someone called him a cookie.

“That’s Orin. Nice to meet you. And yes, I am relaxed as I’m off duty.”

“that’s very good to hear Orin. You’re more than welcome to join me.” PAwl said with a smile. “What are you having?” As He heald the waited so that Orin could add to the order too.

“I’ll have a lemon wedge wrapped around a large gold brick.” Orin said with a wink and a smile.

Pawl looked at Orio with a confused look on his face. “A lemon wedge and a gold brick?? ” Pawl said with a questioning tone to his voice. Not sure that was a joke or something.

Orin sighed and raised a hand. “Never mind. Mix this… Combine gin, rum, vodka, tequila, creme de menthe, Galliano and ice in a blender. Cover, and blend until slushy. Pour into a glass and garnish with a slice of lemon.”

“Oh?!” PAwl blushed which was rare for him. After he got what the officer wanted. He looked towards the Bartender. As he smiled and went off to start getting things together for everyone. Pawl was not sure what to say after the embarrassing moment as he kept quiet. as his face returned to a normal color again.

“Don’t worry about it. It’s an obscure reference anyway. So what’s engineering like? I’d barely gotten onto the ship and maybe had a foot in the door when I was called to go on an away mission.”

“Well, Engineering is a good place to work. The staff there is an amazing set of officers. You would fit in just fine.” Pawl said calmly to Orin.

Orin nodded.

“Well the ship feels contented so I know Engineering is doing an excellent job.” Orin said, “I can’t wait to explore the Jeffry’s tubes and accesses.”.

“Maybe we should plan on an off day to do some exploring of the ship?” Pawl said calmly to Orin.

Orin turned to Paul with a big smile, “That would be great, I could really get my toes in, especially with someone who already knows the ship showing me around.”.

• Orin

“When did you want to do this?” Pawl asked Orin calmly. “I am fairly open to a tour in the evenings or alday tomorrow?”

“I think tomorrow would be good baring an emergency.” Orin said hoping his drink showed up soon.

“When tomorrow do you want to start?” Pawl asked casually. “0600 or later? I am fairly flexible.”

Pawl

Orin gave a sheepish look.

“To be honest, I don’t like getting up early if I don’t have to. Maybe after lunch? Around 13:00?”

• Orin

‘Sounds fine we can meet here and have ourself a self guided tour of the ship.” Pawl said with a polite smile as the waiter arrived with there items. “thank you kind sir.” as he spoke to the waiter a second. as he watched him place all the items on the table.

Pawl

“Excellent!” Orin exclaimed, “Sounds like a plan.”

Orin took the drink and took a sip. Staring at the liquid in the glass for a moment he held it in his mouth for a few seconds before swallowing. Then he slowly inhaled thorough his mouth and out through is nose.

Looking over and Pawl he smiled.

“Mmmm. Nothing like a taste of home.”

“agreed there A taste of home is always a delight.” Pawl said with a polite smile as he took a sip of his drink.

Pawl

Orin sat there quietly sipping his drink for a minute before turning to Pawl.

“Sorry, I have no idea what to talk about now. “

“whatever you wish to talk about is fine. there is no reason to be sorry.” Pawl said kindly to the officer. Taking a drink before speaking again. “Were all friends here ! I wont take offense to anything.”

Pawl

“I’m just a little socially awkward. It comes with being a machine empath. I get along better with devices that with people.”

• Orin

“I think you are doing well with me and I am not a machine other than a chemical, bio-mechanical machine.” Pawl said kindly.
Pawl

“Well there are always exceptions.” Orin laughed.

Orin finished off his drink and ordered another one.

“Ah synthehol. All the physical sensation without the fuzzy mind.”

• Orin

Pawl was glad that Orin was fairly comfortable with him. He was trying his best not to make him feel like a loner or stranger with him. It was good to hear a laugh from him but he was hoping it was not a nervous laugh and not a genuine laugh. “well I better get back to my cabin and gets some rest for out tour tomorrow. If you need anything don’t hesitate to come and find me. It was nice to have gotten to know you.” Pawl said with a small smile as he turned away it faded. As he felt alone more then usual. as he passed the lounge doors as he moved down the corridor. Pawl kept his feelings in checked as he finally made it back to his room to cry a bit as he laid on the couch a bit before getting the strength to go get cleaned up and go to bed. As he cried himself to sleep
