Ensign Shau was putting the final touches on the holoprogram. Or, more acurately… putting an extra layer of glue on and hoping it held together.

He knew it wasn’t perfect… he combined elements of simulations for refugee management, security checkpoint procedures, and identification of covert threats… and then added Chimera’s Deck 11 as the location.

MJ hoped would be enough to get them started, but he also shot a message to Ensign Everett Shaw to see if the Engineer had any experience programing holosuite scenarios, or editing them on the fly.

He looked over at the various Crewman and Security Officers that had come down to the Security Department’s holo suites to participate in the scenario. “Alright team… I think we have something good enough to work with for now. Lets try and focus on what we can get out of the scenario to improve the draft plans we’ve set up. The simulated refugees you’ll encounter will range from scared and wounded to impatient and hostile… we’ll need to learn how to deal with all of them. If I got it set up right… there will also be hostile actors trying to get past the checkpoints, so stay alert “

MJ smiled faintly. “When you see any glitches in the program… and I’m sure you’ll see them… try to ignore them unless they break the scenario. But please report them afterward so we can make the training better for the next teams. Any questions?”

OOC: Open for any Security types that want to stay busy. I added Everett as well in case he wanted to come down and lend his programming expertise. (If he has any)

The team either had a chance to review the plan or was involved in drsfting it. Nobody had any questions.

A few minutes later the they were in the holosuite in an exact replica of Deck 11. They were currently in the starboard cargo bay, and the security Crewman took their preassigned positions.

Seeing that everybody was ready, he started the next phase of the program and the first batch of refugees beamed onto the cargo transporter’s platform.

MJ, a couple other Ensigns, and a Senior Chief watched as the process started. The intake of the first few people appeared smooth, so over the next half hour Ensign Shau increased the frequency of the transporter and the number of people beamed in at a time to their maximum capacity.

Things started breaking down of course… but that was the point of the simulation. The intake stations could not keep up with the volume and the lines started to back up. Once the cargo bay was completely full, MJ reset the simulation and they were in an empty cargo bay again.

“Alright team… we had some issues there, and I didn’t even add any disgruntled refugees or people trying to infiltrate security.” Ensign Shau glanced around the assembled security teams. “What do we need to do better? What were our problem areas?”

The security chief stood off to one side and watched the program, making mental notes. He was pleased with the plan his junior officers had come up with for accommodating the refugees

He stepped forward and halted the sim. “Gentlemen, i see one problem here. We don’t yet know how many people we’ll be taking aboard OR how long this operation may last. You may have to limit the number of personnel at each point, needing to work in shifts, add to that extra security at critical areas of the ship: CIC, engineering, computer core, etc. . .I’m reluctant to do this, because I want everyone at their sharperst, but we may need volunteers to pull double shifts.”
