Choe made one last cross check to ensure all lights were green for lauch. “Dagger 11, Cleared to Launch.” he responded crisply, and then the shuttle learched with a burst of speed out of the Chimera. She raised shields and steered toward to the Picket Two fighter craft in tow.

As the shuttle launched Leeds leaned forward excitedly, looking out of the shuttle window. Waiting to see the USS Picket.

the Shuttle bay was still open to space as if the entity did not understand how to close it a perfect place to land and make their way into the corrupted ship however as they disembarked the shuttle they would feel as if Someone or something was watching them

walking down a corridor they would see on the walls floors any surface....eyeballs disembodied eyeballs that occasionally melded back into the surface to appear elsewhere however they were all closed as if asleep

“Fascinating,” Sapeth said as he studied one of the eyeballs on the wall. “I wonder if these are required for the entity to be able to monitor us, or if they are just superficial.”

Leeds eyes went wide as she saw the eyes and she gulped as she took out her tricorder and tried to turn it on quietly. She really hoped that the CSO’s modifications worked and it stayed seperate from the ship and undetectable.

Captain Quade motioned for the team to move forward, the team surgically moved down the hallway putting the non tactical officers in the middle of the element with Leeds just to his side. “Clocks ticking folks lets keep moving and get this done” he said as they moved deeper into the ship.

Leeds moved a bit closer to Quade as the group moved quickly through the ship. She almost couldn’t move this fast and keep an eye on her tricorder at the same time. She was not as fit as the Marines and was soon panting and sweat started to trickle down her temples. Boy, she had thought her yoga kept her in shape, obviously she needed to step up her physical regimen.

“Ensign, did the Lieutenant give you an ideal location to collect the samples?” As he talked Sapeth opened his own tricorder so he could locally monitor their suits for any issues.

Leed’s eyes were huge as she tore her gaze from the ‘eyes’ on the walls. It was apparent she hadn’t even been aware she’d been staring at them. She was obviously very frightened of them but thanked any diety beings that she was in amongst of Marines. “Um, yes..yes, sir. The warp core…I’m supposed to get my samples there before we set the explosives.” Her throat was dry and in a way she was glad they were moving quickly. Get in, get the samples, set the charges and get out. Yup, she definitely voted on the getting out part.

“Then I believe we should head towards the warp core. Captain Quade?”

Quade motioned with two fingers for the team to move down toward the warp core. “Hard to visualize but I think it’s just around that next hall” he said looking for the doors to the room. It was all so foreign looking. Quade took hold of Leed by here shoulder and pulled her in tight be hind his shoulder putting her left and on his right shoulder. “Stay close keep your hand there unless I tell you other wise.” he said. “Tap three times for trouble, quick.” he said has his hand taped quickly three times. and then went back to his weapon.

“Yes, sir!” The wide eyed Ensign said as she left her hand where he’d put it and repeated his instructions to herself so she would remember them.

The Entity AI…was still active… Sensors were down but the AI might be able to sort of sense them and seemed to be out of its mind at the moment

Leeds spared a quick at the ceiling as the AI’s voice started. She muttered to Quade, “The computer has lost it.”

“Interesting. I would need to examine the ship systems, but it appears something is causing the entity’s control over the ships systems to degrade.”

The way to the core was still clear at the moment however as the team walked along they might catch sight of some sort of humanoid figure wondering the hallway have covered in the biomatter and eyes well in a round about way while the otherhalf was rather indistinct so far the figure had not seen them

eventually they were in Main engineering the warpcore hummed beneath the biomater this was where they would need to take the sample

Leeds waited for the Marines to give the all clear before getting her samples. It shouldn’t take too long. Her eyes scanned the Engineering room, looking for trouble.

Quade looked around things were as clear as they were going to be, he stayed close to Leeds, “Go ahead, lets make this quick, Team lets get the package ready” he noted as Leeds did her thing

As he waited, Sapeth used his tricorder to scan around Engineering, evaluating the ships systems for their current status.

Leeds nodded and moved forward quickly, her hands shaking a bit in fear as she prepared the tricorder for taking the sample. Out of the small duffel bag at her side she pulled out the sample cases that they would be put in. They would be fully shielded so nothing could leak or infect anyone or the ship.

Quade kept a watchful eye on leeds and the team, he was not sure if their weapons would actually do anything to these… Creatures, modified or not.

T’Pris checked her sensor panel where the telemetry was tied to Leed’s tricorder. “It would appear that Leed’s is gathering the sample now. I see no readings to cause alarm.”

OOC Question are you guys also setting the charges up at the same time? or are the Marrines just waiting for the Science to get done First?”

Quade motioned for hawk move to plant the charges, “How much time do you need doc?” he asked leads, his head was on a swivel now looking for any sign’s that the thing would begin it’s attack.

Leeds touched a few more buttons then stepped back. “Done, Colonel. We are good to go.”

Quade smiled, “Good job Leeds, alright team wrap up, set 15minutes on the charges” he said, “set a remote as well” he noted it was not long before the team was back in formation.. “lets go ” he said “baack to the shuttle”.

Leeds took her place back among the Marines as they made their way back out to the shuttle.

Right as Leeds took the sample The eyes on well everything opened swivling around the ship started to thrum as if it was waking up Seems it was not as out cold as the team thought instantly 4 tendrils of the thing lashed out attempting to grab any of the team

Leeds saw, through the bodies of the Marines , the tendrils lashing out and she ducked. Trying to make herself small and out of the way of the Marines. Her eyes widened in fear and her breathing picked up.

Sapeth jumped over one of the tendrils coming towards him as he moved over towards Leeds. “That will make it harder for you to avoid the tendrils Ensign,” he said as he stood next to Leeds. “You need to stand clear of corners and walls so you can adjust your position as needed.”

Suddenly he pushed Leeds to the side as a tendril shot between them.

“Captain if I may suggest we should return to the transport.”

OOC: Little clarification GM :), did they actually get the sample, and were the marines successful with setting the charges ?

IC:

The marines discharge their new weapons testing their effect. Quade’s had subconsciously scoops Leeds behind him, however soon he’s evading the creature as well. “Lets get out of here” he said, his voice was calm like he was sitting having tea.

Sapeth nodded slightly towards Quade as he waited for the marines to start moving. While he waited he glanced down at his tricorder to check on their suits.

OOC Yes the sample was collected and charges put in place I am assuming timer on the charges is set for 15 minutes or did you guys want to go with a remote detonator?

IC: The Phaser fire again Had a 45 Second stun on any of the entity when set to Max Kill setting but it was enough so far to avoid the innital attack however more tendrils were rising up all over the place The Away team would have to be on a 360 swivel until they got back to the shuttle

Seeing nothing wrong with the suits, Sapeth tucked his tricorder away as he followed the marines out of Engineering back towards the shuttle bay. He wanted both hands free and his eyes up so he could keep an eye on any tendrils coming towards them.

Leeds too had tucked away her tricorder and sample kit so she move, hands free and quickly. She looked toward Quade, keeping an eye on him for any instructions.

The Marines set a moving perimeter around the rest of the team there heads are on a swivel knocking down targets that were to close not waisting their attention on things that did not pose a threat to the team. “Lets go lets go,” he said raising leeds hand to his should her. “Stay close doc” he said his rifle striking another target.

OOC: Both timer and remote, incase we needed to detonate early or if they did not go off on their time.

OOC: just a little nitpick Hammond is not with the away team he is in CIC, Captain Quade is leading the mission.

“Aye, captain I’ll relay that to Captain Quade and team” he noted.

Quade was entering the shuttle as the Colonel contacted him. =^= “Mother, Hammer has left the target, charges will detonate core in four minutes.Hammer” =^= he responded.

OOC: My bad, sorry Ryan. This post will conclude the simm, it’s probably not entirely what Kira had planned (but reinforces that I am no GM lol), but we can move on to some side simming while I wait to hear back from the GM Department. If anyone has any ideas, feel free to get them started, I’m sure you’ll have someone join in. :)

IC:

The shuttle relaunched into the quiet void of space, streaking away from the Pickett toward its home base on the Chimera. The Chimera released its burst of Radiation from the deflector, which had the desired effect of slowing the ships that made to pursue the shuttle.

The time ticked down as the shuttle safely returned to the Chimera and the fleet began to back away from the Pickett, as the timer hit Zero, the charges on the Pickett blew, engulfing the ship and the corrupted fleet with it.

It seems the problem was dealt with for now. As the Chimera had the sample in their possession, Captain Andreassen ensured it was safely delivered to Deep Space Nine as the fleet returned to the starbase. The fleet would arrange to continue to monitor the area to ensure the corrupted ships were truly gone as well.

The Chimera then began her journey back to her home neighborhood in the Beta Quadrant to wait further orders.
