Hammonds ice blue eyes stared back at him from the mirror. “When did I get so old, girl?” he asked Kilo, who was curled up on the floor by his feet. Her eyes glanced up at him briefly at the mention of her name but she did not move and settled back to resting.

Pushing away from the mirror he walked back to his temporary room, it was nice and spacious, but it was not a place he liked to be. Being on Deep Space Nine only reminded him of the war and those he had lost. No matter, he would be back on ship soon enough.

“Kilo Come” he ordered.

It seemed to be no more than a second she was sitting in front of him waiting for him to put on her vest so she could go to work. Her eyes smiled at him as her body quivered with anticipation. Belgian Malinois we are high energy bread, and this one and a half year old was no exception she was dying to do something.

“Good,” he said as he slid her vest on and secured it, adding two small saddle bags to her back. The pack contained her chew toy, some weights and a few special treats. Checking that the kibble bag was attached to his belt, Hammond slung the sea bag over his shoulder, which contained everything he owned that could not be replicated.

“Heal” he said as he left the state room and headed for the docking pilon four,as he walked through the station it seemed foreign to him, like it was fake or someone was trying to trick him. He shook his head and made his way past the promenade to his destination.

Hammond approached the docking bay and stopped in front of a rather nervous looking security officer. Kilo took a seat next to Hammond and brushed slightly against his leg. Kilo’s eyes bore a hole in the ensign as she watched his every move. “Colonel Jax Hammond, requesting permission to come aboard”

The NE looked at kilo and then to his PaDD and gave a nervous frown. “I’m sorry Sir, i’ll have to call this in I don’t have you in my list”

=/\= “Um can I get a supervisor here please, I have Colonel Hammond and his dog wanting to come aboard but they are not on the authorization list” =/\= NE smith requested.

Hammond snorted a short laugh at the dog comment, she was much more than that, she was a Marine and technically held the rank of Sergeant.

=^=On my way NE Smith,=^= NLt. Marsha Enns replied, a few moments later she appeared.

“I’m sorry for the delay Colonel,” She immediately recognize the rank, “We weren’t expecting a marine onboarding, but it’s possible we aren’t getting regular updates, we were kind of thrown out here last minute. Do you happen to have a copy of your transfer orders handy? If not, I can contact Captain Andreassen to get this sorted I’m sure.”

Hammond smiled. “No need to appologize Lieutenant, my orders came last minute to me as well. I’ve been assigned as the Air Group Commander for the Chimera.” he said handing his PaDD over to her. “I think you’ll find everything in order” he said.

Kilo stared up at the Lieutenant eyes locked on her, examining everything she was doing. ” she let out a little snort of air indicating she was not happy about sitting for so long.

The NLt. scanned the PaDD for a few moments before smiling, “All in order Colonel, you are welcome to come aboard. Your quarters are of course alotted already on Deck 3, as they are vacant with the departure of the previous CAG. Your office is located convieniently on the Flight Ops Deck, the computer will easily be able to point you in the right direction if need be. Do you require anything else from me at this time?”

“Thank you Ensign” he said. Hammond and Kilo followed the digitial directions to his room. The Chimera was a masive ship, he had spent a lot of time studdying the plans of the ship, but seing it on a scematic and walking the ship were two very different things. It was not long before he was in his quarters setting his sea bag down and looking around. The quarters were impresive, more than he and Kilo really needed but he had no complaints.

=^= “Colonol Hammond to Lieutenant Commander Farrah. Was hoping to have a quick meeting if you have time” =^= He requested.

Kilo sat next to him her head pressed against his leg. She stared up at him in anticipation waiting for the command she knew was comming. Hammond ingnored her for a few more seconds knowing that that she was dieing to sniff around. “All done” he said “Go look around girl”. Hammond said.

The instant the word done had completed Kilo shot off around the room sniffing.

Hammond finnally found his way to the XO’s office and gave the bell a ring. Kilo stat watching the door with great interest. “What do you think girl?” He said looking around. Kilo leaned in on his leg and gave a slight snort. Apparently she was still on the fence hammond thought.
