Several minutes after the briefing on the bridge, Lieutenant Lunan Farrah paced into Main Engineering and stood over a console with Lieutenant Koria Sutret on his right and a small team of young engineers on the other, “So how exactly do we place this, Lieutenant? Are there any examples of Starfleet using subdermal forms of communication for First Contact missions up to this point, I already have nose ridges, I don’t feel as though I need an additional itch.”

Just posterior to the CSO and CE appeared the figure of a Vulcan man in medical blue, which to the most mild of discerning eyes could only be one Lieutenant Junior Grade Javal, the Chimera’s freshest department head and resident chief doc.

“Lieutenant Lunan, Lieutenant Sutret, I had chanced to overhear your discussions pertaining to the design and installment of a subdermal communications device, and I thought to provide myself as an additional consult in this process, if you would have me,” Javal said.

He realized that he had come in rather unannounced, but he thought it logical to lend his expertise to the science and engineering departments nonetheless.
