Xanrae was never the type of woman to get overly excited about things. Generally, she kept to the softer side and tried to take events as they came. It was simply a way to not only keep her hopes in a neutral state. Yet despite this common quality of the young, newly graduated Ensign, she would have been lying through her teeth, if she said she was not the least bit excited about the idea of finally being assigned to a Starship. The thrill of freedom from the long days of studying that led up to her final weeks at the school, now seemed to have been paid off by an assignment. Sure, maybe it wasn’t the best accomplishment in the universe. However, considering who Qezimora had been in her childhood, this was a step in the right direction.

There seemed a bit of an unusual hop in the step of the young Bolian, whose thin hands were clasped gently behind the small of her back. She studied the ship, ebony eyes taking in everything that passed her. There was no way she would be able to memorize the layout in this single trip. Albeit, she hoped over time, that it would be engrained into her memory. She didn’t speak much on her way towards the sickbay, where she hoped her new boss would not be too busied. It seemed hee tongue had been caught by the feline known as excitement. Inhibiting her, from even bothering to make a sound during her voyage from point A to point B.

Upon reaching her destination, she stepped through the doors of the sickbay, somewhat pleased by the sound of the characteristic hiss. Of course, this enthusiasm would fade to become her general personality, which happened to still be of the quieter although far less elated variety. Xanrae took a second to sweep her surroundings, looking for any sign of who the CMO might be. Finding herself to be uncertain, and not quite willing to ask every doctor around, she headed towards the office of the medical chief. Taking a deep breath, she pressed her azure hand against the chime. Now, all she could do was wait.

The lieutenant had been putting the final details on her monthly report for the captain. Onyx layed under her desk asleep and bearly startled awake when the chime sounded. “Enter” she said as she stood and waited.

Lt. Grace, CMO

The Bolian woman stepped through the doors, which parted with the characteristic hiss that she had become ever accustomed to hearing. Once inside, she stood at attention, straightening herself enough to appear respectful. “Ensign Qezimora Xanrae, reporting for duty, ma’am.”

“At ease ensign” she said as she stepped around her desk and extended her hand to her new doctor “Welcome to the Chimera please have a seat.”

Mora shook her hand, a delicacy to the diminutive woman’s shake. Giving a nod of her head, respectfully, she stepped aside. Quietly, she moved to take a seat at the desk she had indicated

Grace made her way over to the replicator to the left of her desk “may I offer you some thing to drink?”

Lt. Grace, CMO

“Simple water would do, if you don’t mind, ma’am.” Xanrae responded, clasping her blue hands within her lap. She was a naturally reserved person, so this silence wasn’t uncharacteristic.

Once the doctor had retrieved the drinks from the replicator she made her way back over to her desk and placed the water in front of the doctor. As she took her own chair she spoke softly to the Bolian “Tell me a little about yourself and what made you choose medical?”

Lt. Grace, CMO

The Bolian offered only the soft incline of her head, to express her gratitude for the drink given to her. She studied the CMO, watching her mannerisms like a mouse watching for possible danger. In a sense, it was nearly the same thing. Only, this wasn’t predator and prey, instead merely the quiet nature of an antisocial doctor.

“Well.. my name is Qezimora Xanrae,” the alien name seemed to roll off her tongue, but even she had once difficulty pronouncing the peculiar words. “I chose medicine due to its depth. It was a subject which fascinated me, as biological bodies operate in idiosyncratic fashions, despite a common species, ma’am.” Mora generally reciprocated the question, but uncertain as to the nature of her boss, she clamped her mouth shut.

The doctor’s smile faded slightly faded as she recalled her own reasons for joining the medical division. ‘i was a yoing girl when I made the decision to become a doctor. I was raised on a starship and my parents were in a shuttle accident. As i Watched the doctors and nurses as they tried to save them both made me want to do the same forr others.”

Mora was without words. She had absolutely no idea as to what she was supposed to say, regarding this sudden revelation from her superior officer. She couldn’t decipher whether or not it would be best to say something, or allow silence to fill the moment. Confused but still trying to contribute, she awkwardly nodded, “I’m sorry..” she quietly whispered.

Grace wiped a tear aa she leaned back in her chair and took a sip of her tea. She took a deep breath and the looked back over to Mora.

Mora glanced down at her hands, drenched in the dark blue of her Bolian skin. She found herself tapping her fingers together, before raising her gaze to meet the Doctor’s.
