“Well Maverick, there are games of chance in the Saloon, if you are interested!” Memphis said in greeting, then he glanced over at the other arrivals. The Captain and her friend, Mr. Bordeaux. What the Captain did was her business not Memphis’. At least in his Opinion.

Mardusk looked at him and said “Maverick? Maverick… I like it. And a saloon and gambling… my kind of party.”

“Ma’am, Mr. Bordeaux” Memphis said with a tip of his hat. Then the Captain turned and left, he liked her dress, it should that she did not take herself too seriously. “Was it something I said?” he looked at Mardusk.

“I am thinking you need to rethink the chocolate,” Kelly said walking back out of the stadium area to find a place to change. After passing several suspect looking outhouses, Kelly found a small tent selling clothes that offered to let her use the changing room. She readily took up the offer. Looking at herself in the mirror, Kelly had to admit that Ian had an eye not only for her size but what looked good on her. While cow prints and fringed vests were the first thoughts in her mind as to what the fashionable cowgirl wore, Ian had selected something far simpler. A pair of boot cut jeans with a white blouse that was very feminine. The shirt and sleeves were made of a white sheer material with some lace and thicker gathered material stopping the translucent effect where it needed to hide for modesty. Setting the white cowboy hat on her head, Kelly turned and walked out.

Finding the group where she had left them, Kelly walked up with a smile. “Well howdy doody strangers,” she donned a thick country accent. “It’s been a while since I have seen ya’ll in this parts. Nice belt,” she then commented looking a the trio. “I mean it must have used all the metal reserves in the great state of Texas to make something that big but they do grow them bigger and badder here don’t they Memphis.”

“So what’s the first thing we do besides find me one of those Red Solo Cups everyone is walking around with,” Kelly looked around.

Mardusk looked at Summervale and said “Yep. Definitely, something you said. No doubt.” with a grin. He then turned and watched the crowd for a second.

Kelly returned to the group carrying one of the Red Solo Cups that seemed to be the standard beverage cup at the rodeo. “Better,” she asked sauntering up to the group in her jeans, cowboy boots and white shirt. She avoided looking at Ian. If she did she knew he would be sporting that half smirk that said ‘told ya so’. Kelly looked Memphis and Gravel. Then she looked at the some of the other men and women passing around them. “Summervale,” Kelly asked with a quizzical expression on her face. “Is there an iron shortage in Texas? Because dude those belt buckles everyone is wearing are huge.”

Captain Kelly Shultz

“Oh! Yes, that reminds me.” Ian said as he looked at Kelly as he nudged her with his shoulder. Digging into his pocket he pulled out a buckle, smaller in size but identical to Ians.

“This was my ranch buckle, only giving to the closest of friends and family.” Ian said as he handed it to her. “Go on, try it on for size Kel.” Ian said with a wink.

Bordeaux, Yeoman/Diplomat

Memphis shrugged, “Dunno they are mostly made of gold an silver inlay, and represent places and things, like Bordeaux, Dude Swamp” Memphis said with a laugh. “Gator Rancher?” Memphis turned and spat off to the side. “as I was telling Gavel, games of chance and harder drinking is in the saloon, Music and dancing out here after sunset. Theres the red house down round the corner for other things. You are the first ship company guests, try not to get in a fight with my marines please”

Memphis Summervale

“No promises.” Mardusk said.

“Well the gators where just for sport more than anything. She over exaggerates I feel how many where at the ranch itself.” Ian said with a small chuckle and slight shake of his head. “But they still could cause some issues if the horses went to far out.”

Bordeaux, Yeoman/Diplomat

“So… whose up for a trip to the Saloon?”

Mardusk, CoS

Memphis laughed at Gavel’s statement, and then Ian’s he seemed at ease hosting the party so far. Memphis, nodded towards the Saloon. “You guys go ahead, I will join shortly, got to be a good host for a little bit longer, greet people and such.”

OOC: my plan was for different areas to get different threads, IE the Saloon, would be MHaSD – Saloon to keep it from getting too hectic in one thread.

If she wasn’t careful Faye was bound to ruin her reputation of antisocial, but she was just too intrigued about the whole fact that the marine was hosting some sort of themed party. After doing a bit of research into the name of the program, she had to take a guess. It was rather random, but weighing the options and what she knew about Memphis, she opted for one and went about finding something to wear that might fit the theme.

Slipping in while others were chatting, Faye easily blended into the scenery and at first glance, based on the attire of the day, she might be mistaken for a slightly-built male. Maybe. She was wearing a suede riding skirt in black, but when her legs moved far enough apart, you could see that they were in fact extra wide pant legs. A simple white cotton button-down shirt was worn underneath a black suede vest. Her teal hair was hidden underneath a black flat brimmed hat and on her hip was a pistol too. Tall black boots completed the look. No frillies for her, nuh uh.
