Next, she pulled up a compound representation of Aethrilium, the rare and exotic element found within the expanse. The holo-display showcased its unique atomic structure, highlighting its distinctive properties.

“Aethrilium,” Aria began, her voice filled with a mix of awe and excitement, “is an incredibly rare element that we’ve only recently started to understand. Its properties are unlike anything we’ve encountered before.” Aria manipulated the controls, zooming in on the atomic structure. “Aethrilium interacts with subspace fields in a very distinctive way. It can enhance the efficiency of warp propulsion systems, reducing energy requirements and increasing warp field stability. Essentially, it helps create a more focused and directed subspace tunnel for our starship to traverse.”

She continued, explaining the theoretical mechanisms. “By influencing the curvature of space-time within the warp bubble, Aethrilium acts almost like a catalyst. It reduces the drag and resistance a starship experiences as it moves through subspace. This not only makes warp travel faster but also more energy-efficient. The real question is why it effected us so badly” She waited for an input.
