The ships proximity alarm sounded as a huge wave of an unknown energy surged towards the Atlantis.

In the Marine Barracks, the few soldiers of about five who were not off duty, watching the maden warp flight from the observation lounge readied themselves for the imminent collision. Weapons were being checked and combat gear accounted for before the call to brace, as the five Marines braced for impact there was no shouting or much coming from the stone-eyed, hard-skinned marines of the Atlantis. As the wave slammed into the ship, the barracks reverberated with the force of the blow. Equipment clattered against the walls, and bunk beds rocked on their foundations, a crate groaned as it fell cracking open onto the floor, and grenades rolled in all directions, the five marines cast a knowing look as the grenades provided them with an all to familiar death song, they whined getting louder giving the Marines only four seconds to scatter from the explosion as in turn of a few milliseconds the grenades exploded.

River had been in her office when the alarms rang. She had decided to use the down time to get on with a few admin bits she needed to do. And lord knew she hated admin. She had just finished her work when the ship jolted and then she eared the explosion.

Acting quickly River ran out of her office grabbing a fire extinguisher as went and headed for the area of the explosion. She’d deal with whoever stacked those crates later. But right now she had to check her men. She moved along the room putting fires out as he checked her Marines.

“Sound off.” she yelled as she hit her com =/\=Styxx to NE wraith get down her on the double we’ve got causalities=/\= she barked before closing the com and hitting it again “Lieut Styxx to engineering I need a damage and fire control team in marine country. We’ve had an explosion. Styxx to medical I’ve got men down. I need a medical team=/\=

As like the rest of the ship the Marine OIC would receive no response to her communications, infact there were no COMMS at all.

River swore under her breath as she battled the fires and tried to check on her men. Eventually she manged and as she did she heard running foot steps she saw Freya and Wraith appeared in the room.

“I don’t know how you got here but I’m glade your here” she said she focused on the last fire. Wraith being a trained medic immediately snapped into action checking on the Marines and Freya grabbed another fire extinguisher.

“We were in the turbolift when the ship got rocked. We had to climb through the shaft” Freya said as she joined River.

After a while the comms crackled and a general message came through from the XO .. =^= All hands. Report in through your comm units - name, location, injuries and whether you are mobile =^=

River heard the XO and tuned to wraith. “Two dead three wounded one seriously” Wraith said. River nodded and slammed the wall. “How many more do you want to take” she said under her breath to no one in particular

=^= This is Styxx In marine country. I’ve got two dead, three wounded and a few small fires down here.=^= She said pausing for a moment =^= I got Wraith and Freya with me. We’re mobile but I don’t want to move my wounded. Can sickbay send someone down through the Jeffries tubes. That’s how Freya and Wraith got to me=^= she added simply.
