Many bonds are strong but some are unbreakable. The bonds of marines were one of those bonds. No matter where someone ended up or how different their career turned out. They would always remember their bond. It was this bond that kept marine units as powerful as they were. It was the reason so many hopeless situations had been turned around. When you stand back to back with a marine you are no longer from different departments or lifestyles you are brothers and sisters in arms.

Despite all they had been through the past few days the bonds of the Marines on the Atlantis were stronger than ever. Galvanized with revenge and soldered with the blood of their enemies. Looking at the marine country you wouldn’t be able to tell that battle had been fought there, the only indication where the handful of engineers milling about fixing what had been broken, and the empty beds of those that had paid the ultimate price. Their names are engraved on the wall of remembrance in the middle of Marine country.

But despite all this and so much more it was business as usual for those in the marine country. The security checkpoint was still manned and the two guards still stood on duty.

Sam made his way through the Atlantis carrying a couple of data pads to where they had dubbed Marine Country and upon arrival, he noticed the two guard security checkpoint and spoke ” Esign Samuel McIntyre to see Lieutenant Styxx.”
