USS Atlantis
Holodeck 1 Memphis Hosts a Shindig!
: : : : : Schtunk, it was the sound of a decent weight of metal dropping into leather. It was repeated as Memphis deposited the other Revolver into it’s holster. Both were slung low on his thighs, where his finger tips would brush them with out much flex from his arms. The holsters were tied down over heavy brown canvas pants that flowed over old well worn brown boots. The pants were held by a belt and suspenders over an off white shirt. With the flow and snap of fabris he swung the oilskin duster on. Feeling it settle in just above the jangling spurs on his boots. With a grin that might have been seen through the closed door, Wade snagged his dusty cowboy hat from the hook next to the doors in his quarters. bandanna tied around his neck like a scarf, and the hat settled onto his head as he stepped through the door exitting his quarters. Wade did not take a lot of time off from his duties, but this was a sacred thing for him as he headed towards the holodeck in a rustle of canvas, and jangle of spurs. His lower lip bulged a bit. In his right hand he carried a small cup, that he seemed to be taking occassional small drinks from, or perhaps spitting into.
: : : : :
: : : : : Wade nodded and grinned at the people that looked at him as he passed. Even tipping his hat to the ladies as he went, occassionally stepping politely out of the way, with a “Pardon, Miss Ma’am, have a good day” and a wink before carrying on. While he had not sent a ship wide announcement, he had posted that he would be hosting a small gathering in a rustic setting, period clothing was preferred. Food would be served, drinks would be available, but speciality drinks were strickly BYOB. As Wade entered into the holodeck he wondered if he should have been more specific about anything that was planned. The Program was just called Tombstone, but to each thier own, last time he did this someone showed up as the grim reaper. The ramshackle wood and dirt town was doing its best to shine like a polished turd, it had actually cleaned up nicely. The streets were hard packed as the rains had been weeks before. The Clapboard buildings were freshly whitewashed. There was a stage, and banners, and he could smell the side of beef on to roast. There were troughs of beer on ice. Though he was not sure where the ice came from. Nor did he really care.

: : : : : Major Memphis Summervale, MarCo
: : : :
: : : : Mardusk had seen the announcement Summervale had posted. It was a bit vague, so he did a bit of research and, taking into account the pistol that had lead to his first introduction with the Marine CO, decided that ‘Old Earth - Wild West’ was probably what he should expect. A bit more research, and the big Orion sat back and grinned before heading to the replicators to get suited up. Once he had his outfit together, he went to his quarters to change.
: : : :
: : : : First on was a pair of black wool pants below a loose fitting white shirt with a slightly ruffled front and french cuffs with mother-of-pearl cufflinks. Dark Green suspenders held the pants up, and these were covered by a vest with a similarly colored front and black back. Over the vest came a black coat with jade buttons left open to show the bolo tie closed with a large gold nugget with a single Spade emblem from a deck of cards etched in the front. A deck of playing cards found it’s way into the interior left breast pocket of the coat. Around his waist was a thick black leather belt with bullets for the pistol held on his right thigh, tied with a black leather cord. A sheathe held two knives on the other side, and a third was tucked in a sheathe on the back of his neck, covered by the jackets collar. Black polished boots with silver toe caps finished off the main ensemble. Looking at himself in the mirror, he added the last touch… a black flat-brimmed hat in the style of the Riverboat gamblers he had seen in the vids, with a silver hat-band made up of small individual links, each of which was a different suit from the playing cards of the era. He grinned, grabbed a bottle he had on hand for special occasions, and headed to the holodeck.
: : : :
: : : : Walking in, he spied Memphis and walked up to him. “Hoping this is appropriate for the festivities?” Mardusk asked with a look down at his outfit.

: : : Ian entered, looking back he smirked at Kelly as she was behind him taking in the scenery. Ian looked the part, he had jeans and cotton button up shirt with a belt buckle in tow. He felt comfortable in this surroundings and felt at ease as he looked over at Kelly. “Man, so many frilly dresses.” said Ian as he looked around, seeing nothing that came close to what Kelly thought she was going to wear. “I sure wish I had wore mine.”

: :
: : “It said Tombstone,” she threw up her hands in frustration. “You know just once I would love to show up in a holodeck program wearing the right clothes. I mean this is twice Ian. Twice. I looked almost worse showing up to Gravel’s program in a wetsuit and flippers.” Sighing heavily she rolled her eyes. “Not a word. Not one. I will be back in twenty or so. Get me a hot dog or whatever deep-fried thing they have here while I go change Hero,” she said tipping his hat down some. It was meant to be half flirtatious but also to hide the ‘I told you so’ look she knew would have to be in his eyes.

:
: “Come on just call me the cowboy hero.” He said as he took the backpack off and handed it to her. “You can make it up to me later tonight. I am thinking chocolate body paint and rum. For you I might even use peanut butter.” He said as he looked at her with a wink as he waited for her to look into the bag.

“I am thinking you need to rethink the chocolate,” Kelly said walking back out of the stadium area to find a place to change. After passing several suspect looking outhouses, Kelly found a small tent selling clothes that offered to let her use the changing room. She readily took up the offer. Looking at herself in the mirror, Kelly had to admit that Ian had an eye not only for her size but what looked good on her. While cow prints and fringed vests were the first thoughts in her mind as to what the fashionable cowgirl wore, Ian had selected something far simpler. A pair of boot cut jeans with a white blouse that was very feminine. The shirt and sleeves were made of a white sheer material with some lace and thicker gathered material stopping the translucent effect where it needed to hide for modesty. Setting the white cowboy hat on her head, Kelly turned and walked out.
Finding the group where she had left them, Kelly walked up with a smile. “Well howdy doody strangers,” she donned a thick country accent. “It’s been a while since I have seen ya’ll in this parts. Nice belt,” she then commented looking a the trio. “I mean it must have used all the metal reserves in the great state of Texas to make something that big but they do grow them bigger and badder here don’t they Memphis.”
“So what’s the first thing we do besides find me one of those Red Solo Cups everyone is walking around with,” Kelly looked around.
