: : Jacen had been able to get a runabout for their journey, which allowed more room for Relann, Sowyn and himself. He had told the pair to pack for anything.

: : Sitting in the cockpit, Jacen smiled as he began inputting the coordinates for their journey. He wanted to keep everything a secret as much as he could and hopped none of them found him out.

: : “How are my girls back there?” he said as he looked back.

: : : : : Relann was sitting with Sowyn at a table working on fun drawings amongst the Dy’allan scripting lessons (which was Sowyn’s idea). She looked up and grinned. “We’re doing just fine. And for the record it was her idea to do work. I just wanted to have fun.”

: : : : : “I like learning the old word,” Sowyn said, almost pouting. “It feels… special.”

: : : : : That made Relann smile even more. “That they are.” She called up to Jacen. “I suppose you can blame me for the work ethic. It’s borderline obsessive at times.” Then again, preserving Dy’allan history and culture was something that she was passionate about as well as felt was important for Sowyn to be immersed in. So much had been lost already and it was important to share what was left.

: : : : Jacen came back, the shuttle on course became automated, leaving Jacen a chance to see his girls. “Really? This is vacation my loves, no learning no studying. The spirits can give us some time for just adventures” he said as he sat down looking at the pair. “My girls, so studious. All the book learning in the world can’t prepare you for what I have in mind.” he said with a large smile as he studied them carefully.

: : : “Hey! I’m the one drawing!” Relann protested, holding up her semi-abstract colouring of an ocean scene.

: : “And it is beautiful my love.” he said as he smiled at her drawing before lowering his head as he shook it slightly.

: : : : “I am surprised you two haven’t asked me more, I know I can keep my mental guards up but at the same time I have yet to feel any probing.” he said with a mischevious smile at the two.

: : : Relann laughed. “What’s the point when you clearly want it to be a surprise. You’ll either tell us when you’re ready to or we find out when we get there. I mean, isn’t that the point of surprises?” she said with a grin.

: : “It is, but come on I expect some curiosity.” he said as he wondered what they would think when they arrive. “But if you don’t want to ask then how am I supposed to tease and taunt you two?” he said clearly teasing the two.

Empaths know they are aware of more than they might need to be so we are taught a great deal of patience. Well, at least I did, but I was the daughter of two nobles who were also Chihaos. If you eve want to learn patience, just sit through temple training for months on end,” she said with a lopsided grin.

: : : : : : : Relann chuckled. “Yes, but I was still young and there were days when i wanted to go off and do anything but memorize lessons.” She turned to Jacen. “Okay, here’s a point of curiosity: how long will it take to get to where we are going?”

: : : : : : “We are looking at 18 hours. So not super far away but enough that we will have some time to ourselves. Then we have two weeks to enjoy ourselves when we get there. So until then, I did pack games, food, and activities to keep us entertained. So, what do you want to do?” he asked, looking back and forth between them. He was curious what games they would like, human games where different from the ones they knew and he would love to see how they react to them.

: : : : : There was something special about feeling him so excited about something, and beyond that Relann knew that this time away would be so good for them all. “Well, you are the activity director. What game shall we play first?” she asked with a grin, radiating simple joy as she gazed at her husband.

: : : : “Well how about something’s to eat some time, old Earth game… not quite relevant into today but still fun. It’s called monopoly, a game about ruling a city and famous for family bonding and unity…” Jacen said his smile wide and nearly mischecious.

: : : Her snow white brows rise and Relann smirked. “Ruling a city is mean to be a bonding activity? Hmmm, okay. We’ll just go with it.” She rose to her feet and moved to the replicator. “Did you want to eat while we played, Sosaya?”

: : : “Hmm, ask your father. I’m not sure if everyday flatbread is special enough, but I don’t want to presume.”

: : : Sowyn looked to Jacen with a questioning expression.

: : : : “Oh it’s special enough.” Jacen said with a wink, “And it’s… not ruling so much. It’s complicated. I don’t know how to describe the game…” Jacen said as he paused, thinking of the best way. He used to play it with his sister all the time, and loved when his parents joined in.

: : : Relann laughed before ordering the chaman and some black bean dip that she had recently introduced to Sowyn. “You might want to figure that out,” she teased her husband. “I’ve got bread and dip, you pick the other snack and explain how to play this game of yours.”

: : “I mean, we will get the game and snacks. I got some trail mix to for us.” Jacen said as he left behind and got the game. Coming back he sat down and looked at them. “Now first rule, I am the banker.”

: “I’m going to pretend I understand what that means in context,” Relann teased as she brought over some of the food and sat down with Sowyn. “You’re going to have to remember that us Dy’allans lived in a very different society than I’m suspecting this game came from.”
