Jason is in his quarters unpacking. My first assignment i hope i do great he thought. Jason goes to the office of his DH for his check in. He arrives and rings the bell.

Ensign Jason Maxwell Science

OOC: I’m going to throw you a curveball :) A simple check-in won’t do, you need to paint the picture.

IC: Ensign Maxwell would find no response from behind the door. A passing Ensign should catch the eye of the new officer. “That office is vacant.” The NE said as she passed by Maxwell, without looking up from her PaDD. “You’ll find Commander Trainor on the Bridge if you need to check in.” Now that Ensign Maxwell was aware of his acting Department Head’s location, it was up to him on what to do next.

‘Alright, thanks for the help.’ Jason goes to the turbolift and uses it to go to the bridge. The doors of the turbolift slides open and Jason looks around the bridge.

OOC: You won’t find me if your character doesn’t see me. Check out the Atlantis’s ship specs to see where on the bridge Trainor would be.

Jason goes to the operations station and sees Lieutenant Commander Trainor, Jason goes to him ‘Sir, i am Ensign Jason Maxwell i am here for my check in.’

OOC: That’s better!

IC: “I hope you were able to set up your eval with Counselor O’Farrell?” Trainor asked momentarily looking up from his station. Tenzing sensed that the new Ensign was eager to begin his duties, but it was his responsibility to ensure Maxwell was cleared before being able to start. “Once you’ve been cleared by our Counselor and Sickbay, I’ll have your orders ready for you.” The Chief Operations Officer stated as he continued along with his task.

Tenzing wasn’t trying to be rude, but he needed Maxwell to understand the norms and protocol of life aboard a Starship in the easiest, but quickest, way possible.
