Orvos had been the last to board the pod, though to be fair, the only others with him were Lazol and Delaney. He had gotten to know the security officer well enough during the game night in the lounge before the mission began. The CPO on the other hand was fresh and he was still getting to know the new crew.

Orvos looked out the window as the Athena roared towards their foe. A beauty of a ship she was. It was a bit distressing to see her go this way, but he had been here before. He had seen ships go only to hope for a rescue. His own ship he had once commanded centuries ago, the Aurora, had seen its demise. Though he had managed to warp out before its certain destruction.

This was different. He would witness her dying breathe. He would see to it that she received the honor she deserved. And he would be certain to ensure that it wasn’t all in vain.

He turned to sensor readouts anticipating a potential trajectory to a safe place to land on the planet below.

Orvos understood both her instructions and her calmness. Athena was going down. As hard as it ever was to lose a ship, he knew all too well that everything could fall apart if the fearless leader fell apart as well.

And right now, in this escape pod, he was in charge. Orvos laid in a course to the planet’s surface, specifically near the Guardian of Forever. “Alright, you guys hang tight. We’ll be on the surface in no time.” he said as he adjusted his wrist devices.

While the pod pursued its course, Orvos quickly pulled out his drone and worked on some minute details that required immediate fixing. It wouldn’t be perfect, but it he needed it ready, even if for a short bit.

The shuttle pod’s landing was none too pretty but functional all the same. Bumps and bruises were in profusion but thankfully no broken bones.
