Out of all the senior staff, Orvos appeared to be the first to arrive to the Guardian amongst the rest of the crew. He pushed throught forming crowd to see what the fuss was all about. He had figured Lazol and Delaney were close behind.

Then he saw it…the prone form of Stark Nightstalker in front of a crazed man. Conditions are met? he pondered as he stepped forward, his hands ready for anything.

The scene before him was clear. This man had done something to Nightstalker, and Orvos would ensure that he wasn’t going to get away. He put the circular device from his wrist to his temple, not activating the drone just yet. He knew it wasn’t in its best of shape, so whatever he would do needed to be done quickly.

“And who the bloody hell are you?” he shouted, clearly unafraid of a man from any time. After all, Orvos likely older than anyone he would ever come to meet…except for the Guardian itself.

-Lt. Orvos Legen, CE

Pierce flipped his comb over back in place and tried to replace his ruined hat on his head before replying. For a brief moment he looked more human but then the madness in his eyes returned full force.

“Pierce Hamilton” he grated out of teeth, “Disaffected and abandoned time traveller”. He waved at the prone form of Stark, “However I have plans to change all that by jumping to a time where /that/ will fetch me a nice bounty and I can live out my days in relative ease”. He waved the servo in his hand around wildly. “Don’t come any closer or the kitty gets it”. He started to cackle wildly.

Gamemaster Conspiracy Theory (GMT)

Adam was not a being inclined to fear. Caution was a preset, and it had parameters, those he was used to, and accepting of. That meant at the moment the Commander was not inclined to be afraid of the dispensation of his Chief Intelligence Officer. In fact Adam was not afraid, he was angry, that was something he had not really ever experienced. It was more of a Fatherly anger, not his Chief Intelligence Officer, his apprentice, he had been teaching Stark how to work the forge. Many hours had forged a bond between the pair. The violet of the Commanders eyes was easy to see at the moment since they were glowing more than a bit, and the electrical impulse of his neural net could be seen streaking through his ravened hair. Still for the moment he kept his distance, he had not formulated a plan on how to stop the less than sane interloper.

Commander Adam Chryst, Executive Officer, USS Athena NCC 17819-D

Horace had the Teachers keep the children in the Pods for the Moment, as he set the Crewmen he could gather on setting up the Emergency Shelter. Horace was glad that was an auto-eject sequence and had trailed after the escape pods like a dutiful nanny. They would have food and shelter. At least for a time. Time seemed to be an issue, and Horace had no idea what was going on at the moment, it was time to get involved it seemed for the Chief of the Boat. People were gathering near the…..Oh No, the Guardian of Forever, this couldn’t be good. The other whisper carried to his ear, something about Nightstalker. That sent Horace that direction. He was not even fully aware of the weight sitting on his shoulder, as Nico rode the specially padded shoulder of Horace’s uniform. For someone that had only been aboard the ship for a short time he seem well acquainted with the creature that was seated upon his shoulder. Horace reached up and hooked a finger in Nico’s collar instinctively as he felt the claws curl deeper into the shoulder pad.

MCPO Horace Harkness

Nico had not expected to find Heart of Gold, with the Keepers of the Secrets when the flying city was being evacuated. But there he had been, Golden Laughter’s father, just as Nico remembered him, taking charge, and giving people something to focus on instead of their fear. Nico had briefly wondered if Iron Lotus was there too, but he could not taste her mind glow, so he thought not. Then something had happened to Shadowbrother. Something was not right, and Nico, unlike many beings worse his emotions nakedly. He tasted the dismay of the others, Shadowbrother was hurt, Shadowbrother needed Nico, Nico would defend the tribe, These were Night Skin’s people, that made them Nico’s people too. Nico’s head rose, and his ears flattened, lips curling back in a vicious hissing snarl. Had it not been for Golden Hearts, hand Nico would have already been attacking Stupid Hat, Crazy Eyes. Eyes, Throat, Hamstring, Nico had needlelike fangs, and claws that were wicked three centimeter sickles. All six limbs quivered, as he strained but not overly so, he did not want to hurt Heart of Gold, and he had to defend Nightskin as well. Nico keened a long “Bleeeeek” as he craned his neck looking for his person, she was here, but he could not see her.

Nico the Treecat

Pierce caught sight of Nico and started slightly then relaxed again, if only a little, as if he had thought he saw something disturbing but then realised it was not what he had thought. “What a motley crew we have here” he said derisively his eyes darting back and forth assessing potential threats. He pointed the servo wand like and the gesture disintegrated a rock close to Stark’s head causing the supine form to growl slightly. Stark was angry too.

Gamemaster Conspiracy Theorist (GMT)

Stark tried to move, tried to break free but it was to no avail. Whatever neural lockdown that damnable servo thing had put on him was not succumbing to Stark’s efforts to break it. The rock shards stung his face which was nothing compared to the internal bruising and cracked ribs he had suffered when Pierce had “null portalled” him down through several layers of the ship without a safety net. His mind filled with thoughts of Laraan, he could do with some energy right now… just enough to rip this guys heart out.... Lying on his back looking up Stark could see the wreckage of the two ships glinting in orbit above them. Kill Pierce, go back, fix the timeline. Simple but oh so complicated. Then it hit him like a bolt from the blue… Pierce could have jumped through the Guardian of Forever’s matrix at any time before the others arrived…

What was he waiting for?

Stark Nightstalker CIO

The answer to Stark’s question might just be the person approaching and whom Konral and Nico would pick up immediately. She let out a quick reassuring brush of her mind to her husband and companion before focusing on the situation at hand. Others of the crew might be taller than the woman, but there was no mistaking the intense presence of the captain as she wove through the crew. Exceedingly calm, as if this was all natural, the confidence of command settled itself gently over her. In her right hand, the pre-set phaser was tucked behind her hip slightly and when she came to the fore for the group, she presented only part of her body in a strategic way that anyone who knew her would expect. The former security officer knew how to not make herself a target, and yet at the same time, she wasn’t relying on anyone to protect her either.

“So, Pierce, a bit of situation you’ve gotten yourself into, wouldn’t you say?” Koraia said calmly, with almost a hint of amusement. It kind of was funny, in its own way. “I mean, I thought we already discussed this earlier.”

Fl. Captain Koraia, CO

“All in a days work Captain”, Pierce snarled surveying the crowd and waving the servo around wildly, “and for me, that day can be redone and undone”. Pierce’s eyes darted around mentally calculating. He looked for all the world like a mad balding shepherd counting his sheep.

Liam had finally worked himself out of the pod. His hand reached in to assist his fellow colleague out and once more unto the steady land. In the background the scene played out among the crew and two individuals, his eyes noticing the increasing animosity between them. There was clear history there.

His head turned to Jones, “Are you alright?”

He didn’t need to literally state how tense the situation had become. He was feeling, or rather hoping, the man was possibly as ignorant as himself in this situation. On the inside, he felt like a glass mural about to rupture into a thousand little pieces and held together only by pure will. Wisely he remained at the back of the group while they interacted.

Stark was watching the scene unfold before him. The wild gesticulating of the servo was particularly mesmerising. Then he noticed that the motions of the servo were mirrored by the swirling wreckage above. Somehow he was controlling them. Then it hit him and internally he screamed in anguish. Pierce didn’t want anyone following him through the portal, he was waiting for the crew to gather so he could kill every last one of them…

Cara walked out of the pod a bit shaken and her hair a mess but otherwise she felt unhurt. She immediately checked the others in the pod to make sure everyone else was also unharmed. When she looked out side towards the horizon she saw the large portal like gate but that wasn’t her concern. She stared at Stark laying in pain and she grabbed her medical bag and swung it over her shoulder and carefully and breathed in deep as she walked briskly. As she passed the other pods Cara glanced at Horace with the children in his pod and gave him a short nervous smile glad he had made it. Her legs felt like they might buckle beneath her but she had to keep going. Stark needed her and all she could see was Jor’el dying with no one to help her. She couldn’t let that happen to Stark. Before she could pick up her pace she felt strong arms grab her around her waist.

“sh…” Horace said as he let go oh Nico, and grabbed the Doctor in rough strong gentle hands

“He’s hurt, he needs help,” Cara pleaded.

Ensign Cara Daniels-Doctor

“Oh I think he is too tough to die yet” Horace stated, he was trying to comfort a doctor that wanted save the wounded crewmate. The situation was just to tense to allow her to step out there and get her self evaporated, or whatever the stick did. Starks eyes were following it, what was that old cat looking at? The scream, Horace was old school, that wasn’t pain, that was despair....What did stark see coming? “Stinker come back” Horace said as soon as he realized his mistake.

Horace Harkness, MCPO

The tug on the collar stopped Nico did not hesitate, he was off Horaces shoulder in less than an eye blink. Likely expected that he would charge the man with the wand, Nico couldn’t Nightskin was here, Korn-rows, and Heart of Gold, Times Lost Friend, Sunset Protector, Secret Keeper, the whole tribe was here. Nico could not save one and risk others. It was to Nightskin his feet carried him, Circling her feet, hissing. Teeth barred claws curling wickedly in and out.

Shadowbrother, Laughing Leaf hears you, Crazy eyes, Worse than tribesbane Nico sent to Stark as he connected his little scared kitty mind. The image Nico sent might have been comical to some. But not likely to Shadowbrother, it was of Nico dressed in a starfleet uniform with Commander’s pips addressing a Young Captain that looked a blend of the Nightskin and Korn-rows. Who adressed Nico as Commander Nightstalker. Never Alone, Never Forgotten The images would have tickled at the back of the Captains mind like unseen in her focus but recalled later perhaps.

Nico the Treecat

Michail planted himself in the middle of what was rapidly becoming a semi-circle of very intent looking “Athenaites”. His dark Greek eyes flashed. Turning briefly to the Captain he whispered “Your trust is appreciated”.

He turned then to the man before him and put onto his face a sneer of contempt. “I know your plan Pierce, it’s about as ill-conceived as your outfit and that ridiculous hairpiece you’ve been sporting since your “unfortunate accident” on the last mission”.

Michail (DTI)

Pierce’s eyes nearly popped out of his head as surprise, anger and viciousness played across his visage. Then his eyes popped even wider as a purple cat leapt up into Michail’s waiting arms and licked him full in the face settling down comfortably into the Greek man’s self assured embrace.

Pierce started to gibber. “It’s not possible, you can’t be Aegis, you can’t…”. Wilder and wilder the servo flew as Pierce’s face registered new emotions, uncertainty and panic.

Gamemaster Conspiracy Theorist (GMT)

Stark felt the brush of Nico’s mind and began to formulate a way to make the threat known to him. His mind was distracted as he heard Michail’s voice. He knew Michail well but the voice he was hearing now had changed, deepened somehow. It wasn’t the Michail he knew to stir up a dangerous man like this. What was he playing at?

Stark looked up into the heavens again and formulated the swirling wreckage above in his minds-eye. “Danger” he projected with all he had.

Konral had found himself stumbling, leading his team from his pod to where everyone was. Looking around he tried to gather his bearings. Seeing Stark, Ghubari, and all the others seemed to make himself feel at ease. He felt like this at ease feeling wouldn’t last for long.
