Following his visit to sickbay Michael headed to the Counselling suite to meet with the Counsellor. He always appreciated the insights that Counsellors gave him, and he looked forward to the perspective he expected to receive here as well.

The yeoman at the desk looked up as he entered. “Hello Ensign, what can we do for you today?” he asked with a huge smile. He liked his job. He hated that people sometimes came in with horrible emotional hurt, but he liked seeing that they got help and in the end were doing better.

Lt. Cmdr. Atoded, Counsellor

“Hello, I’m Michael Easter, Ensign assigned to Engineering,” Michael replied, “reporting for my boarding counselling appointment. I don’t mind waiting.”

The yeoman tapped on the console in front of him. “Cmdr Atoded is free. She will be out in just a moment. Please have a seat. Can I get you anything? Drink, snack, blanket? Sometimes I think it’s too cold in here.”

Lt. Cmdr. Atoded, Counsellor

“Just a water would be lovely, thank you,” Michael replied, and turned to sit, when he suddenly turned back.

Michael ripped out his tricorder, his mind on the problem with the local temperature controls. “But, please, you shouldn’t need to resort to a blanket in your own workspace! If you don’t mind me accessing the bulkhead panel, I can recalibrate the local thermal regulators to adjust the micro-climate for you. It’s really no tribble, err, I mean trouble. I can get it done in a jiffy while I wait.”

The yeoman smiled, “Thank you, Ensign. That would very welcome,” he said as he stood and moved to the wall behind his desk. He requested a water and then returned and set it on the desk for Easter. “I think sometimes I’m just cold natured. Always have been.”
