With his meeting with the Chief of Security complete, Chris made his way through the corridors of the USS Athena toward Sickbay. The medical examination was one of the final formalities before he could settle fully into his duties aboard the ship.

The doors parted with a soft hiss as he approached, revealing the familiar, sterile environment beyond. Biobeds lined the room, while medical staff moved quietly between patients and workstations. Despite the activity, there was a calm efficiency to the department.

Chris stepped inside, taking a moment to orient himself before approaching the reception area.

“Ensign Chris Taylor,” he said politely. “I’m reporting for my initial medical examination.”

Having announced himself, Chris folded his hands behind his back and waited patiently for a member of the medical staff to direct him to the appropriate doctor.

OOC: I’m not sure where in their meetings this would take place, but let’s just do it.

OOC: I’m not sure , but I would say after arriving but before the Welcome party

IC: Coming around the corner from the CMO’s office, Talia saw the security officer waiting. Wasn’t he on the shuttle with her when they transferred to the Athena? “Hi, I’m Talia Ren. Didn’t we both just get here?”

“Hi , yeah I remember seeing in the shuttle bay when we arrived”

Chris and Talia served on the Memorial together but their duties didn’t have them interact with each other

She led the Ensign over to a biobed and motioned for him to hop up. “Ensign Chris Taylor,” she announced to the computer interface and his medical records popped up on the console. “Is there anything that might not be in your file? Something that’s happened in the last two weeks?”

“Nope nothing , unless you treat heart flutters”

Chris said with a slight chuckle , He thought Talia was a very good looking woman, he had thought as much when he saw the Med officer in the shuttle bay

She looked at him with raised brows. “Heart flutters, eh? Should I be running cardiac diagnostics on you?” She chuckled at the innocent flirting. “Let me have a second to look over your record and run a few scans.” At the touch of a button, the bed began running an active scan on Taylor’s present condition. She saw no problems and there weren’t any changes of concern since his last set. “Hmmm, I’m showing everything is in order—funny, your heart seems very stable.”

Chris tried not to laugh, instead he was smiling when he responded

“Well…it must have been a tempory reaction to your beauty”

Then he gave himself a mental slap realising he should be more professional

“I’m so sorry , I should be more professional”

He said having to try really hard not to allow his cheeky smile to emerge

“No damage done.” She replied in a light tone. “We’ll let it slide this time, okay? There wasn’t anyone around to overhear so there’s no problem.” Talia glanced at the security guard. He was quite forward, but sickbay weirded some people out and they wound themselves up and demonstrated behavior a little out of character. Looking at Ens Taylor though, she didn’t think that was his excuse.

“So, from what I’m seeing, everything is fine unless you tell me otherwise…”
