USS Athena
The Turning of Time
They had arrived back at base two days ago and Janna was restless. Something was bothering her today but she couldn’t quite place what or where.
Then she got the call.
Her mom, Sara, had been in a shuttle accident. It did not look good.
Janna was a wreck as she packed her stuff, not knowing that she would be leaving the Athena for quite awhile. But even as she found herself back on Alpha Eridani, she could fel that thread of connection to Orvos, to the Nexus. Her brain was still changing and becoming some morphed version between human and El Aurian. No one could quite explain it and she was careful not to tell too many people. her aversion to being a lab rat was high.
What was equally interesting was that as her abilities developed, her haemophilia started to resolve itself. She no longer needed the clotting factors. Curious.
She had grown and changed so much over the years. She was not the same scared woman she had been when she first boarded the Athena and Stark Nightstalker had hoped for her sake that the crew would come to see her as more than just her predecessor’s replacement.
And they had. She had found a place and a home and that was a beautiful thing. But as she sat next to Sara’s beside, one hand holding her mother’s and the other holding her other mother’s, Janna knew for the time being she was right where she needed to be.
