IC: The Parthenon was undergoing some changes in management. With the departure Rollin, the lounge was once more left without a manager. Rollin had been quite the charismatic personality that the lounge practically required. There was absolutely never a dull moment. But his time there had been short lived, having been summoned elsewhere by emergency. The Parthenon had been in the care of Marishka before that even. He had found the woman to be quite intoxicating. Of course he was fully aware of her effect on others. She had even gotten Orvos in trouble for his inability to steer clear of her. But she was more than fun. She had been passionate too. Being able to challenge her, Dawson found she could meet him step for step well enough. And to experience some of that intimate ferocity had been a memorable experience.
But now, the Parthenon was ownerless. He had no idea who the next one might be, but he was confident he would know who they are when they stepped through the doors.
For now though, he had been tasked with ensuring the incoming crew from the USS Memorial received a warm welcome. Simple enough really. The Parthenon was large and had a plethora of activities available to anyone off duty.
Dawson worked in tandem with the staff, ensuring everyone present this evening would enjoy themselves. He wasn’t used to be in charge of such things. He typically kept to himself and the shadows. This was…different.
While people soon arrived, he kept close to the entrance, speaking with various people briefly as they entered. He had read the records of the new members and was now able to pin their names to the faces. It came with the territory to be fair, but nevertheless, he used it.
He stood nearby as he observed how the evening was going.
-Dawson
Chris had heard there was Welcome party for him and the rest of the Memorial crew, he entered the lounge and immediately look around to see who was there
Ensign Chris Taylor
SecurityTalia entered the Parthenon because she thought it was expected. There had only been a few transfers from the Memorial, so how big could the welcome be? Still dressed in uniform, she stepped through the doors and stopped to take a look around. It appeared to be a gathering place for crew during off times, that offered several different forms of entertainment, plus refreshments. A spread had been laid out, looking very appealing (mostly finger foods). Having been given the rest of the first day to get aquainted with the ship and crew, she relaxed into the purpose of the welcome party. Seeing another member of the Memorial, she walked over to Ensign Chris Taylor. “Hi, I’m Lt Talian Ren, Medical. And you are?” Her right hand raised in the usual Terran greeting.
Lieutenant Junior Grade Talia Ren
Doctor USS AthenaChris smiled at Talia then shook the hand that was offered
“Hi there, I’m Ensign Chris Taylor”
He wondered why he and Talia had never met before, then again he was only out of the Academy 6 months before the transfer happened and he had no reason to go to sickbay
Ensign Chris Taylor
Security“Nice to meet you.” She commented as their hands slipped apart. “I don’t remember seeing you on the Memorial, but it was a big ship.” She looked out over the offered treats and picked up a small plate for her selections. “Kind of a big welcome for a few people, don’t you think?” She chose something that looked like a meatball and a scoop of some kind of pasta. There was a tray of raw vegetables, carrots and celery and such, which she added to her plate. Picking up a napkin and a glass of something clear, Talia turned back to Chris. “Shall we grab a table?”
Lieutenant Junior Grade Talia Ren
Doctor USS Athena“I was only out of the Academy for six months before this transfer, and I didn’t really have much reason to visit Sickbay,” Chris said. “That’s probably why we never met. It is rather large, now you mention it.”
He reached for a plate and napkin, selecting a bit of everything on offer—balanced, deliberate, but not overly particular.

SecurityRowe entered the Parthenon, while his own transfer predated that of the Memorial he was still a relatively new face aboard the Athena. He figured it would be good to get to know some people, and besides he’d heard that the refreshments were on the house. As he entered he scanned the room, old habits and all of that, before shaking a few hands and making his way over to the bar. His eyes wandered and eventually lingered on Talia. He caught himself staring and rotated his seat, so that he wouldn’t come across like a creep. He flagged down the bartender and ordered an Old Fashioned and proceeded to nurse it.
- Rowe
Dawson had observed the man and seen him about on the ship here and there. Not Memorial staff. So he quietly found himself taking a barstool next to the man after the on duty bartender obliged the him. “Greetings! Settling in well?” he inquired. Dawson knew he had seen the man on the ship before the Memorial staff arrived, but he played it up as though he were clueless and Rowe was a new face to him.
-Dawson
“Not too bad.” Rowe replied honestly. “She’s a massive ship, so still feeling my way around and trying to put names to faces.” James felt as if he’d seen this man around before but for the life of him he couldn’t place him. Tipping his glass in an informal salute. “I’m James Rowe, tend to spend my waking hours lurking around the science labs. I know I’ve seen you before, but names aren’t a strength of mine… care to help me out?” Rowe wasn’t being completely honest… names weren’t a problem given his background, but that was a different life.
-Rowe
It was the end of Meadows’ shift at the helm. And upon hearing there was a party in the Parthenon to welcome aboard new crew, he felt obliged to pay a visit.
Still in uniform, Matthias Meadows stepped up to the bar to order a light drink as he looked about. Plenty of folks present. A part of him was curious if he might find Ela in the crowd anywhere as he glanced about, peering over shoulders and heads to get a decent view of the place.
-Lt. Matthias Meadows, Helm
Still sitting with Taylor, Talia looked around at those gathered. “Have you met anyone interesting yet?” She raised a hand to waive at someone coming in the doors and then focused on Chris. “You know, in medical we have a chance to meet a lot of different people every day, so that part has been interesting. But I always find it a little frustrating in the beginning of a new assignment to have to make a completely new set of friends.” Her brows raised, asking the security officer if the situation also frustrated him.
Lieutenant Junior Grade Talia Ren
Doctor USS Athena“No I haven’t yet, I tend to keep myself to myself, I really should try to make some friends”
He said in reply to Talia
Ensign Chris Taylor
SecurityMeadows happened to catch the wave of one medical officer at an occupied table. Perhaps they were seeking company? He strolled over to the pair with a grin. “Hello! Are you two from the Memorial? Or are you crew I still haven’t met yet?” he said with a smile standing near the table.
-Lt. Matthias Meadows, Helm
Talia saw Meadows approaching and clued Taylor in with a nod in his direction. “Hello there. Yes, we’re from the Memorial although we never met each other before today. Are you new to the Athena too?”
Lieutenant Junior Grade Talia Ren
Doctor USS AthenaChris decided to listen to the verbal exchange before he introduced himself
Ben wasn’t too happy about this gathering. He was content with staying in his bunk until his 1st duty shift started. Ben walked in with a slight avoidance demeanor. The best course of action to get Ben out of this funk, would be ask him about his home.
Park
Gainn saw Lieutenant Park enter the bar. Careful not to trip and waste his perfectly good hasperat soufflé, he made his way over to him. “Hey, check it out!” The Bajoran said excitedly, “The food taste just like home! I can practically taste Bajor!”
Lieutenant Junior Grade Rado Gainn
Security LieutenantEnsign Chris Taylor
Securitybump anyone?
Lieutenant Junior Grade Talia Ren
Doctor USS Athena“That does look good Rado.” Ben smiled. Casually walking around to scope out an empty chair.

After a busy day, and despite being a bit tired, Janna slipped into the Parthenon with a smile on her face. She had changed out of her uniform and into a simple navy blue dress that fell just past her knees and tall black boots that stopped just before her knees. They had a modest heel and helped her feel no so short around some of the taller crew. Approaching the group she had already met earlier, Janna smiled wide. “Good evening. How’s everyone doing?”
