OOC: I’ve tagged all Memorial personnel I believe! This is a welcoming aboard party for the Memorial staff pre-sim. Please, feel free to hop in and join some of the fun. Don’t be shy.IC: The Parthenon was undergoing some changes in management. With the departure Rollin, the lounge was once more left without a manager. Rollin had been quite the charismatic personality that the lounge practically required. There was absolutely never a dull moment. But his time there had been short lived, having been summoned elsewhere by emergency.
The Parthenon had been in the care of Marishka before that even. He had found the woman to be quite intoxicating. Of course he was fully aware of her effect on others. She had even gotten Orvos in trouble for his inability to steer clear of her. But she was more than fun. She had been passionate too. Being able to challenge her, Dawson found she could meet him step for step well enough. And to experience some of that intimate ferocity had been a memorable experience.
But now, the Parthenon was ownerless. He had no idea who the next one might be, but he was confident he would know who they are when they stepped through the doors.
For now though, he had been tasked with ensuring the incoming crew from the USS Memorial received a warm welcome. Simple enough really. The Parthenon was large and had a plethora of activities available to anyone off duty.
Dawson worked in tandem with the staff, ensuring everyone present this evening would enjoy themselves. He wasn’t used to be in charge of such things. He typically kept to himself and the shadows. This was…different.
While people soon arrived, he kept close to the entrance, speaking with various people briefly as they entered. He had read the records of the new members and was now able to pin their names to the faces. It came with the territory to be fair, but nevertheless, he used it.
He stood nearby as he observed how the evening was going.

Chris had heard there was Welcome party for him and the rest of the Memorial crew, he entered the lounge and immediately look around to see who was there

SecurityTalia entered the Parthenon because she thought it was expected. There had only been a few transfers from the Memorial, so how big could the welcome be? Still dressed in uniform, she stepped through the doors and stopped to take a look around. It appeared to be a gathering place for crew during off times, that offered several different forms of entertainment, plus refreshments. A spread had been laid out, looking very appealing (mostly finger foods). Having been given the rest of the first day to get aquainted with the ship and crew, she relaxed into the purpose of the welcome party. Seeing another member of the Memorial, she walked over to Ensign Chris Taylor. “Hi, I’m Lt Talian Ren, Medical. And you are?” Her right hand raised in the usual Terran greeting.

Doctor USS AthenaChris smiled at Talia then shook the hand that was offered
“Hi there, I’m Ensign Chris Taylor”
He wondered why he and Talia had never met before, then again he was only out of the Academy 6 months before the transfer happened and he had no reason to go to sickbay

Security“Nice to meet you.” She commented as their hands slipped apart. “I don’t remember seeing you on the Memorial, but it was a big ship.” She looked out over the offered treats and picked up a small plate for her selections. “Kind of a big welcome for a few people, don’t you think?” She chose something that looked like a meatball and a scoop of some kind of pasta. There was a tray of raw vegetables, carrots and celery and such, which she added to her plate. Picking up a napkin and a glass of something clear, Talia turned back to Chris. Shall we grab a table?”

“I was only out of the Academy for six months before this transfer, and I didn’t really have much reason to visit Sickbay,” Chris said. “That’s probably why we never met. It is rather large, now you mention it.”
He reached for a plate and napkin, selecting a bit of everything on offer—balanced, deliberate, but not overly particular.
