Out in the crisp air, she inhaled deeply and nodded. “I get it, I do. And s’okay. I only feld’it ‘cause you got me drunk. At my request,” she said with a grin. There were no hard feelings or worries between them. “And ‘sides, I got forehead ridges and you do alright wi’ me.”

He chuckled. “Yours are beautiful, not at all like a Klingon or Nausican face ridge!” he added. Something he also might not have said to a fellow female officer under normal circumstances. Due to his darn half-android metabolism and genetic tinkering, it was very hard for him to get drunk. He had tried hard, and had achieved a certain tipsyness, but he was - sadly - not as intoxicated as Ghubari.

Koraia just smiled at him. “Why thank you.” She didn’t disputer his claims or anything, just accepted the compliment as it was intended.

Looking around, her amusement grew and Ghubari started laughing. “Oh Ancestors! I’ve never actually been thrown outta bar before!” This was a ridiculously funny thing, especially for an officer like her who was considered upstanding and not prone to that sort of behaviour. It somehow entirely made her day right there and it showed on her face and in her pale amber eyes.

Her laugh was contagious and he got a feeling that she did that way too rarely, so he had to join in.

“Me neither! Well, who would have thought that we actually managed to get something off the bucket list. Patricia once told me that a bar brawl is part of unwritten academy program and she used to wind me up that I never had one.” he said laughing and remembered too late that Ghubari could feel his emotions. He was positive she had felt what he had felt when he had talked about Patricia. He knew it was a way too strong emotion… oh how well he knew.

Ghubari regarded him carefully, though she still wore a smile on her face.

He gave her a look and the left half of his face actually blushed a bit. “All platonic and very much one way.” he added silently and pulled out his badge of his pocket.

She simply gave him an understanding look.

He touched it with a peep. =^= King to Cecilia. Sweat heart, just got thrown out of the Root Bar with a pal of mine. Would you be a dear and transport us to the courtyard of the medical compount, the rehab facility =^=

=^= Julien! Seems you are not as ill as you led me to believe. That means you can come by tomorrow evening as well. Shall we say 8 pm?! Initiating site-to-site now, Cecilia out. =^=
Ghubari would notice that there was no surge of emotion from Julien as he was talking to Cecilia. He just smiled and nodded, not surprised at her vehemence at all.

“She sounds fun,” Ghubari quipped, readying herself for transport.

Then the blue swirls appeared and they were beamed back, materialising in front of the building where their temporary beds were.

Looking up, Koraia nearly sighed, but she knew she was drunk and tried and tomorrow was another battle to fight. Glancing at Julien, she couldn’t help but smile. “Well, t’anks fer the caht and especially de drinks. I’m goin’ to not like em so much in de morning, but I’ve decided I don’t care.” She offered her hand to him. “Good luck with Cea, or Celia or whatever her name is.”

He took her hand and gave a rueful smile. “I won’t meet her, I’m… ah, not physically fit enough.” he said in a low voice and for some reason, although there was nothing like that between him and Ghubari, it still felt wrong admitting it to a woman. The truth was he couldn’t bear the fact that due to his heavy weight, he had become a boring lover, afraid of hurting the woman, all he could do is just lie there…

“I would like to spend some more time with you though if you don’t mind. They have a chess board in there or we could catch up on some of the latest best fleet manouvers together… “
