Escape pods as a rule was a horrible option in combat. They were defenseless, had limited thrust, sensors, life support, and in a general sense simple targets for a hostile force. They presume that whomever was attacking you wasn’t going to bother to finish off the survivors. Something multiple powers unfriendly to the Federation have already demonstrated in combat, but who was he to question the Captain. The majority of the crew would follow orders and he would gain nothing by a show a disagreement. Not that he did disagree, the current situation was only going to get worse with standard tactics so this was at least a change…

OOC Feel free everyone to post some action on your respective escape pods. Athena deserves an audience. I’ll wait a day and then start the action below. Ian.

Jayden followed the Captain to the escape pod. He sat down at a console and started to help Rhan with the launch squence.

Ghubari settled into the pod, having been the last one off the bridge. The image on the viewscreen was different than last time, and so were the feelings. Still, she felt some sadness at knowing the initial outcome of immediate events. What actually bothered her about this situation was the stress on her crew and that was something she couldn’t control. All she could do was follow through and keep them as safe as she could.

She reached over to the comm on the pod. =/\=All crew, this is the Captain. We’re heading for the planet. Stick together and watch out for each other. We’ll see each other shortly. Koraia out.=/\= She was too calm and she knew it. But there was no helping that right now either. All she could do was hope that the person she was putting all her trust in came through.

R’han spun slightly in his seat. There wasn’t a lot of room to begin with, as he looked at his captain. “Sensor detect only a borderline “M” class world. We won’t be able to live there for long… certainly not the billions years we’ll need to wait until the Federation discovers us.”

R’han knew there had to be a temporal window of some sort on the planet below… and he knew some of them… made it there because the stone that was discovered proved it… but that is all he knew, survival was certainly not a guarantee.. at least not for him.

“I wish I have brought my backpacking gear. We could use the survival stuff that I have in it.” Jayden said while trying to focus on his work. He brought all the systems online and ready.

“All set Captain.” He reported as he readied the ejection system.

R’han tilted his head. An escape pod was well stocked in survival gear. In addition to the ship itself, he was fairly confident that he could find a way to survive several weeks, a backpack worth of equipment while helpful would not substantially extend their survival duration. “Unless there was an antimatter generator and a replicator within the contents of your backpack, the escape pod will do.”
