They had set this meeting up a few days ago and Faye finally felt like she had a firm grasp on how the ship generally functioned and knew it would be good for her and the COS to go over things before she got to work properly kicking off her redux of Project Bastion.

She as early not not overly so. Faye stepped into the meeting room with a PaDD in hand and grabbed herself a coffee from the replicator. taking a seat at the round table, she leaned back and read through one of the many reports she had to get through today.

Shock had just had breakfast with Marishka – an interesting meeting that had left him somewhat unsure of his regulatory and sensory abilities – when he went to his scheduled meeting with Ms Calloway. Calloway and he hadn’t had many interactions with one another. Their first time meeting one another was difficult. The two misinterpreted one another. Later, they would train in holodeck with Shock’s new junior security officers, where Shock and Calloway teamed up against the two others. It helped build the necessary rapport and respect between them, Shock thought, grateful for Calloway taking the time aside to do so. This time, they would simply have work. He had some security clearings he wanted to bring up with her, and he believed she had some points for the agenda too.

He checked the time, he was right on time, and chimed the door.

As he was waiting, he adjusted his uniform (he had some scone crumbs that he managed to brush off before Calloway opened the door).

Faye’s face scrunched up in confusion as she rose from her seat and went to the door. It opened. “It’s an open meeting room. I wouldn’t have locked it since I’m expecting you.” At least that seemed the logical reasoning in her mind.

She retook her seat and sipped her mug of coffee.

This is did not start well. He needed to diffuse. The best way would not to make a conversation about why he had done as he has done, whether or not she was offended, why it was important for her to make such a note out loud. Not finding an appropriate reply, the most logical would be to exchange pleasantries, which he would have to initiate, as she thought it more important to comment on his chiming a door than wishing him welcome. Curious were the priorities she had. No matter. Work needed to move on.

“Hello, Ms Calloway”, he said, and took a seat, not too close to Calloway, along the round table. He too had brought his pad with him. He was ready to get to business. Was she?
