XO's Quarters- All Sort of Knowing

What was time anyway? One could track it with the path of clothes that were now strewn about his quarters that spelled out their progress from the couch eventually to his bedroom, but the concept of time had lost all meaning for Janna. Instead, she was fixated on this strange new sensation their mere contact created in her. It was soothing, knowing, like everything was right in the universe. She had never felt such a thing before.

Shifting her position beneath the covers, her hand slipped across the skin of his chest and she nestled her head into the crook of his arm. “The rational part of my brain wants to examine all this, break it down, but the rest of me is just happy being here with you,” she said, even her soft voice sounded loud in the hushed aftermath of their long and drawn passion.

Orvos laid there, holding her close as he relished in what he thought was likely not ever possible. He laughed lightly. “Oh my dear, don’t think about it. We just broke every rule they told us to follow.”

A light laugh escaped her lips and she grinned at hm, her eyes sparkling. “Mmmm, that we definitely did.” Her, the person who followed all the rules, lived a safe life, just went and tossed caution out the airlock. It felt so good!

He then turned on his side and wrapped his other arm around to her back and caressed her. “We weren’t supposed to touch each other. I lost track of how many times that rule was broken tonight. And quite frankly I don’t care. Ship isn’t destroyed. We’re still here…you’re here.” He gave her another kiss on her lips before adding with a mischievous grin. “I can’t wait to tell the doctor…”

Janna laughed again. “Oh, poor Ben. I don’t know if he’s going to be furious or just shake his head and walk away.” The part of her that was a therapist with a doctorate was super curious how her brain had reacted during their activities. All she knew for sure was something had shifted. Again. It was a tiny thing, perhaps not even noticeable but she felt like there was this lingering mental connection with Orvos that was above and beyond what they had established already. It was like a craving she couldn’t quite sate, a peek into his mind. Though they had been pretty darn focused on pleasure so that was what she picked up.

Reaching up, her fingertips traced a gentle line down the side of his face. “You feel like you need to run, to hide. But maybe now you can run towards something, instead of away?” A knowing inquiry, but a inquiry just the same.
