Sure enough, as he arrived, Janna was there dressed in civvies, plain navy trousers and a soft cream sweater, commbadge affixed . “My only rule for this outing is no abductions,” she said seriously.

“I second that. Hopefully this vacation actually is one. But I’m going with the odds that we won’t be caught in the middle of a god war here. And if we do…” and he adjusted the sling holding his left arm and grimaced a little in pain, “… I hope they don’t have a dog.”

“How are you feeling?” Janna asked, her face etched in concern. Given how they could heal tissues and bone so easily, it spoke to how bad his injury had been that he still favouring it. Time still was the best healer for the body but still her mind was fixated on the fact that it had been so bad in the first place.
