In the morning as everyone got up for their day, a message marked Urgent was on the comms for all DHs as well as the XO and Intel.

“Good morning, everyone.

I appreciate that we are on R&R and working on refit. With the ship nearly done I am requiring an all stations briefing this morning at 0900 in the Ready Room. I wish to see all reports and activity for the last 72 hours. Please include maintenance, discipline reports, revised Leave Schedules as well as anything else in your ship logs for last 72 hours you believe we need to cover.

Coffee and tea available as usual. Uniforms are not required but I ask you keep your dress professional.

See you all later.

Ari sat back as the message was sent. It was going to be a long day. Pouring herself another cup of tea, she put her uniform on and headed for the Captain’s Mess and te Ready Room to get ready.

Jean-Francois saw the message and went to his office to get all of the reports for the captain. Once done he went to the Ready Room wearing his uniform as he was touring the ship. “Morning Captain.” He said going to pour himself a cup of coffee and sat down.

Ari glanced up then back down. “Morning…” was all she said. She was busy focusing on something on her console.

Melissa has just returned to the ship from her leave, something that she still wasn’t quite sure about. She was dressed in a button down shirt, blue jeans and boots, her long, dark hair pulled back into a tight braid and sun tanned skin peeking out from the rolled up shirt sleeves. She looked a little less intense than normal, but she still carried herself with an air of authority. She grabbed a glass of water before sitting down. Even though she had been away from the ship, she had been in constant contact with the Lieutenant that she had left in charge. The recruits that had come aboard were adjusting to their new routines. She would be meeting with them today. She also checked with Lt Evans to make sure that their equipment requests had been filled by supply. “Captain, how are you?” She asked as she sat her glass on the table and looked around the room. Very few people on the ship had ever seen the Lt Col out of uniform, so many of them would be shocked that she actually looked halfway human and approachable.

Bohannon had been working on the refit almost non-stop. As such, when he came into the meeting room it was clear that he had no slept much and that he needed a shower. That said, he had the reports the Captain requested. “Hello Captain, sorry I did not get a chance to clean up much, but I have been working like crazy to meet the refit schedule” said Bohannon.

Ari looked up as the department heads started trickling in. Even her Medical Chief, Gray, made it by slipping in the back and settling in one of the far seats from Ari. “Everyone get comfortable and grab a drink. Tea and coffee on the table over there.” She nodded to the table under the window. “Soon as everyone is here, we will start.”

Isaac entered with a few packets of people who were working well and people who are not working well with others. He grabbed a mug of Coffee added cinnamon to it and took a set.

The door opened and Baumann entered dressed in civilian attire. He said “Good morning, Captain.” and nodded to the XO. He then made his way to the far end of the table and took a seat.

Ari nodded to those who walked in. When the Intel Officer arrived, she nodded to him as well, “Morning, Commander.” She honestly hadn’t expected him to show and she wasn’t sure if it made things better or worse. “We’ll give Science another minute then we will get started.” She didn’t look to the XO or Intel and barely glanced at the others before looking back down at her console and continuing what she was doing.

Ari had waited till quarter past, then she closed what she was looking at and spoke to those assembled. “All right, we are going to get started. I want to hear from everyone how their departments are handling the refit and shift schedules. Also anything I need to know about leave schedules, needed equipment or anything else that you have been ‘dieing’ to tell me about but didn’t want to.” She laughed but it was forced. “So who’s first?” She glanced around the table.

Baumann spoke up. “The new Intel facilities are almost complete and fully online. I anticipate full functionality within forty-eight hours, Mr. Bohannon and his team should be commended for their efforts, Captain. I am sure the working conditions were not ideal, but they finished ahead of schedule.”

Ari made a note. “I’m glad it all worked out. I was a bit concerned on the comms considering the original set up.” She wasn’t going to let it out of the bag that he had additional consoles. She glanced around the table. “Next?”

“Hello everyone. Captain, I have all the reports for the past week and the approved duty rosters for the next two weeks. We did have only one disciplinary situation which you’re aware of. I have nothing further to contribute except I agree with the Commander. Engineering and every department that I’ve inspected is top notch and doing well.”

Ari’s gaze leveled on Jean and her jaw clenched a moment. She had to take two deep breaths before looking back down at her console. “Thank you, Commander.” She took another breath before looking back at the others. “Next?”
