Baumann reached the shuttle and made the hand signal for the securing team to rally. “Mission has changed. There is an unknown hostile force en route to sensitive infrastructure with the apparent intent to steal it. Doing so jeopardizes the safety of our team and the inhabitants of this area. We are going to intercept and try to prevent that from occurring. Everyone on board. Now” and he moved inside. Taking the pilot’s chair, he activated the comms. [O] Shuttle to Bonaventure. Commander T’Leia has ordered us to intercept the raiders. We are requesting MACO support for potential armed conflict. Please confirm, Bonaventure. [O]

[O] They are coming, Baumann. Orders are to protect but not kill if it can be avoided. We have… permission… as it were, to assist those being attacked. But stun rather than kill where possible. And I want to see if we can get both sides to a discussion table. [O] Ari’s voice came over the comm. Her voice was struggling to remain calm, but he would recognize the worry in its lilt.

[O] Understood, Captain. Tying in MACO shuttle to comms [O] and he tapped a few commands into the console as the shuttle detached and began heading towards the raiders. [O] Sending rendezvous coordinates for Marine shuttle. Security shuttle will cut off hostiles approach to their target. Recommend Marine shuttle approach from behind and establish intersecting fields of fire. Confirm. [O] Baumann’s heavy German accented voice came through the comms to the Marines and the Bonaventure. His voice was calm, not hurried. Either he wasn’t nervous or scared; or he had experience in bad situations.

The shuttle started to move off toward the interceptors. As they approached they could tell that their shuttle was quicker than the others and that the two ships approaching were not actually armed with any kind of energy weapon. Scans showed a crew of up to six in each with the ships more looking like a glorified tow truck than anything. One appeared to be a support craft, and it showed that it had arms - rockets and projectile weaponry. Depending on the ‘hit’ it may or may not be damaging to the Bonnie shuttle. Size wise they were larger than the shuttle, and showed a great deal of repair and patching. Propulsion was a low grade fusion engine whose output had seen better days.

Melissa opened her comms link =^= We’re inbound with a squad of MACOs. We’ll take your port side.=^= She said as she moved into postion “Grimley, take weapons, Markus take science. Scan for incoming ships and have weapons primed and ready.” Melissa ordered.

[O] Understood. Aim for engines. We will attempt to disable, not destroy. Mission priority is prevention of removal of tech and protection of refugees. If necessary, I will break away from engagement to extract deployed crew and refugees. If you attempt comms with hostiles, they speak something similar to Vulcan. Not exact, but close enough for understanding. [O]
