Rhys adjusted his uniform.

It had been a little while since he’d replaced the outgoing Executive Officer, with them swapping places on the ship via the same shuttlepod. With the new orders for the SS Sojourner, the formalities of checking in with his Captain had fell to the wayside. Rhys however was nothing if not a professional and now that they had ten minutes to relax, he decided it was time for the fomalities to take place.

He approached the CO’s Ready Room on Deck One of the SS Sojourner and pressed the buzzer.

Lieutenant Hetherington - XO/CSO

“Venez,” came Marceau’s voice. It was French - it meant come, but one could reasonably assume he meant ‘enter’. When the door opened, the young Captain smiled, his smile friendly but stressed. “Lieutenant Hetherington. Je suis désolée we were not able to meet sooner. It has been a hectic time.”

He offered a smile towards the captain upon entry.

“You’re not wrong” he added when the captain commented about it being a hectic time. “You came back to what, a mission to get about and a new XO?” he asked of the Captain, still smiling. “Thought it only fair to come and formally introduce myself, even though we don’t know how long I’m going to be here. Rhys Hetherington, background in science and now your new CSO and XO combined.”

He took a brief pause. “Not my first rodeo on board one of these Lunar-Rover vessels, my first time on the bridge of one though” he added.
