[snip]A moment later the comms chirped again. =O=Security to Decon.=C=

Heather had just opened her mouth when Grey slid in next to NE Samuels. She could tell that is a futile effort, but she couldn’t fault the doctor for trying. Even if she was going to make it harder for them to try and track whatever got the NE.
“Doctor, I know this is tough, but we are going to need your help to figure out what attacked him. Are you going to be okay?”
Cmdr Grace - XO/CSO
Rachel looked up from the corpse having just closed the young man’s eyes, she gave the first officer a confused expression “Hmm yes I’ll be fine, I can delay emotional processing for at least three days” She didn’t have the same brightness in her tone but she seemed more lucid than normal. She grabbed a wipe from her pack and was carefully wiping the blood off her hands “I’ll need his body brought to the Sickbay so I can do an autopsy” Rachel stood up with ease, picking up her scanner as she stood.

Heather nodded. “We also need to get cleared from our time on the planets surface.”
Looking around at the assembled people on the other side of the decon tech room she noticed Lt. Eric standing there. “Lieutenant, help get the ensign down to sickbay so an autopsy can get started, also…” She trailed off as she finally noticed Nessa standing there. “Is that a dog?”
Cmdr. Grace - XO/CSO
Nessa once the door opened and people began to get to work, sniffed the area, then gave an attention getting bark up at the air vent which had been where whatever had attacked Samuels had come from and then escaped too. A moment later two NE armory officers came in making the inner tech room to decon start to get a bit crowded. “..What happened in here?” One of the young armory officers asked, evidently seeing the mess of blood and confusion had done little to help matters, “..Oh God is that blood? Is that NE Samuels?!?” he said then covering his mouth he dashed into the hall to vomit his stomach contents into a support pillar corner outside.
… which mixed rather colorfully with what was already there from Rick ..
The other nurse from earlier came up behind, looking in grim, “..Jesus..” he said crossing himself out of reflex it seemed of the old Earth traditions. Swallowing his own bile he looked up then at where Nessa was trying to get folk’s attention. “..Looks like whatever this thing is went back into the vent bigger then it came out as.” he said indicating the vent grills bent inwards some with flecks of blood and muscle tissue on it. With a trembling hand he raised a medical scanner to it. “.. Most of its....it is Samuels blood and ....and you know..” he said. Then lowered the scanner, and reached into a med kit to pull out a sample gathering unit. Pulling back a thread of muscle and what seemed something leathery he held it up in the vial. “..This isn’t though, unless Samuels was part reptilian.” he said, turning back to Grey, “..Ma’am, I should get back to medical, this sample might be enough for me to run a better ID scan and help star refining internal scanners for looking for whatever this thing is..” He said.
El looked at the vent. It was indeed pressed in. Where was Sasha when you needed him to propound on vampires coming in all forms? Could it have grown larger in seconds? How did that work? It had devoured a rat. How small did it start off that sucking back some blood caused it to bloat like that and grow? Still, Samuel’s swift demise brought up bad memories and the coppery scent of his blood caused more to memories to flood in that she attempted to stem. She had other things to focus on that was still life threatening. Like that creature. If it roared back in this crowded decon office with the ferocity and reflexes of a cat it would be chaos.
“Do it,” Heather said from where she still stood by the decon chamber. “Someone will have to explain the dog to me later, but in the meantime, if she can track it, let’s see what if we can find the creature. In the meantime, can someone please clear us so we can get out of here?”
Cmdr. Grace - XO/CSO
”..Aye ma’am..” the nurse said dashing out of the deconn chamber tech bay to jog back down the hall.
“She tracked it to here, Commander,” Rick said, forcing back bile to reply. Pale, he looked at the vent as well and imagined a creature the size of dog on a rampage. His vaunted thoughts of Nessa being the hero to slay the alien rat evaporated in the face of this thing that sliced up the Ensign.
The ship wide comms went off again. =/\=Lt Nkosenye to the bridge! We have an aggressive alien creature up here. Medical to the bridge as well. En Aiden has been attacked and is injured. Be prepared for zero Gs when you get here.=/\=

Well, Rick thought, not much need to track the beast if it is on the bridge.

Nessa nearby sat, though seemed edgy, like her natural dog instincts to fight/flight were warring against her mostly completed but not finalized combat training with the MACOs. The dog obviously needed direction in a state like this to focus itself one way or another.
OOC: This thread can get wound up here, not much more to say/do. I’ll make a new med thread for the tech guy’s findings. Though given the unexpected turn of you geniuses using 0-G on the bridge prob not needed now :P
GM CockRoach
Rachel finished wiping her hands clean, methodical in her cleanliness as she was in most other things “I’ll be heading in now unless I’m needed for anything here” She scanned over the away team “No more corpses” The statement was nearly a demand although spoken levely.
